Meanwhile, back at the farm...

I just finished my first animated sprite, whee.

It's a personal project for me, but it's an updated sprite from an old game that may get used in a new freeware remake. Of course, my version of the sprite will probably just be in a demo version compiled solely for my amusement by a friend, but that's just as cool for me as if it were going to be in the actual finished project. It's fun when people indulge you

Both are made using a four frame sprite sheet, and the timing on the blinks is the same, but the amount of time on the eye-open frame is longer on one.

It really is awesome work Tai as I told ya earlier. Great job on the sprite, looks wicked the colours are vivid and it just stands out so much more from the original really cool , keep up the awesome work.

Ah and just noticed the blinking eye, creepy, hehe very sweet.

Thanks for all your feedback on the sprite, guys   It ended up looking really lame in the demo of the game, hehe.

I'm attempting to teach myself how to do a nice etched metal effect without the aid of a tutorial as a personal challenge.

I've pretty much failed thus far

This is probably the closest, though it's reeeeeeeal boring.



This one looks neat, but not really metal-ish.



And this is what I refer to as a spectacular failure:



In an attempt at seeing if cross-etching could work, this sort of rose from the layers. It doesn't really look metallic at all, but it's pretty dang cool looking. And fairly simple, actually. It may be one of those tutorial-suitable ones, if I ever get around to writing more of those

The middle one will never be in a tutorial by me, as it involves making about 15 layers (each with a full set of steps of its own), sorry.

Ooh new challenge, yeah the first one looks the closest to metal but is kinda iffy, the second one is getting there but the least metal, but the third one I really like, looks really cool. That could definitely work as a sort of background, may have to steal I mean borrow that one in the future.

Great work all around Tai, they all look pretty unique.
