Pain of Salvation is a great prog metal band, definitely one of my more recent favourite bands from about last summer when I started to collect their material, have all their albums to date.
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum not even metal though.

I like them, perhaps it's their style of music that turns me on. Adn I've seen that initial thing before...

I have been informed that today is, in fact, opposite day, and what you've written there is absolutely true so you should probably just go.

Being heavy doesn't necessarily mean being metal though, mostly in the chord progression and structure of the songs, thats why bands like System of a Down and Slipknot, get mistaken for metal (which they aren't) but I digress.
You should pick up Remedy Lane, and Entropia by Pain of Salvation, if you really like the Perfect Element Part 1 (Which is definitely one of their best) heck even Scarsick their latest album is pretty good, but stay away from BE, you'll need to listen to a lot more PoS before I recommend getting that album, very different style.

Devin Townsend Presents: Ziltoid the Omniscient With the earlier Dream Theater and Kamelot releases, I was eagerly anticipating this new album by the mastermind Devin Townsend, and needless to say he did not disappoint. This man is probably the hardest working dude in metal besides Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, why do I say that? Well Devin, played all guitars on the album, played bass, keyboards, sang, produced the album, engineered it, mixed it, created the concept, wrote lyrics, and to top it off, programmed the drum machine for the album, (Which sounds almost like a real drummer)
What makes this album different, is the emphasis on humour which you don't see many if any bands try to do nowadays and many key is I say bands, anyways the story and such is hilarious, and the music is incredible, how Devin does not run out of ideas is beyond me, but if you want to hear a genius at work, listen to this album.

Symphony X - Paradise Lost Taking some ideas from the John Milton book, wells mostly themes I would say, as this is not a concept album off the story or anything. Nevertheless this is a heavy album, which is uncharacteristic of Symphony X, so perhaps this is the new direction they may be taking. I like this album in certain parts, while others don't do it for me yet, its a good album, a bit different than what I was expecting, but still a solid album from these guys nevertheless.

Porcupine Tree - DeadWing Been picking up much more material from these guys, most of the essentials, like this one, definite turn away from the In Absentia, with this album being much more heavier, but still quite enjoyable, much more albums for me to get from these guys, sticking with the more straight forward material, before moving onto their earlier albums, which are more experimental and so on.

Bought American Psycho (really like it, probabally gonna read the book) Christian Bale does an awesome job in it. Part about the records / cds was pretty interesting in my opinion after I read up on it (wasn't around for when they were released so didn't know until I read an explanation).
Also rented Cube and The Crow (they didn't have Pi =|)
Cube was pretty cool, didn't care too much for the character development, it was allright but I sat there and doodled while most of it was going on (still paid attention though), call me shallow but the main reason I rented it was for the premise of all the traps, I was really interested in Saw 2 because I really like the idea of a house w/ death traps and such, but never ended up seeing it because my friend told me most of the people don't die to the traps.
Haven't watched The Crow yet, expect it to be pretty good though.

Nightwish - Century Child
This has one of my favourite songs on it - Phantom Of The Opera. I've loved this song for as long as I can remember, but hearing Marco scream 'Sing my Angel of Music' really sends chills down my spine. It also has End Of All Hope, which is very dramatic. The cd finished with the epic Beauty Of The Beast, a masterpiece split up into 3 parts. Wonderful.
Nightwish - Once
Planet Hell some some insane drumming - it's just amazing to hear this. 'Wish I Had An Angel' shows of Marco's raw vocals again, and I love hearing Marco & Tarja singing together. Nemo & The Siren are beautiful songs which show off Tarja's smooth, operatic voice.
It's all Juni's fault. He got me hooked on this band.

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream Another fantastic Porcupine Tree release, this is a lot different than the other two albums I own by them. This is definitely leaning towards a more poppish direction, but still plenty of good progressive rock goodness, also my edition comes with a 5.1 mix and high resolution 24 bit stereo mix, with a few extra tracks included in the 5.1 mix, a definite fantastic pickup and superb album from the mastermind of Steven Wilson.

Spock's Beard - V More progressive rock goodness, recognized as the other top prog rock bands to come out in the 90's, along with Porcupine Tree, this is a great album, only 6 tracks, but considering that track one is 16 mins and track 6 is 27 mins, you can understand why. The music is more poppish so in the style of Genesis and even a bit of the Beatles, great album to pick up for any first timer who wants to listen to this band (along with Snow, which have yet to pick up) if your a progressive rock fan, you need to check this out.

In case anyone missed it, "nemo" is Latin for "no-one" or "nobody". It's the name of the captain in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, very deliberately for a mysterious character and in reference to the Odyssey (Odysseus's answer to Polyphemus is "Nemo"). The character in Finding Nemo was named after Verne's captain, possibly without the knowledge of the Latin - the title ends up reading "Finding No-one" which is pretty amusing in a geeky sort of a way.
