Can't wait for the sequel tho it won't be nearly as good.
Snuck into it at my local cinema, and it's still a pretty good film, but I didn't feel that it as as good in terms of characterisation and such (although it does have some impressively spectacular moments, that's true)

Megadeth- United Abominations Their newest album came out today and so far as I listen to the album as I type this it is incredible. A superb followup to their last album The System has Failed, this album reminds me a bit of their classic album Rust in Peace, combined with a bit of Countdown to Extinction album, Dave Mustaine has done it again, solid job by the new band mates too Shawn and Glen Drover and James Lomenzo.

Do I have to say anything more but:

Nightwish - Eva

All I could say: beautiful. Not even nearly as good as Tarja, but good enough.

And yes, I just bought this single. :P

Got an old Hammer film today - Frankenstein Created Woman

A young man (Hans) is falsely accused of murder, and he is beheaded.   ;)
His girlfriend is grief-stricken, and drowns herself.   :D
Baron Frankenstein revives her, and put Han's soul into her body. :band:
She then takes revenge on those that accused Hans, by killing them one-by-one.    :P

I love the old Hammer films.   :drunk:

Vanden Plas - Christ Some new progressive metal for me, a german progressive metal band that has been around since the 80's, this is their latest album a concept album based on the story of The Counte of Monte Cristo, very superb, almost like a Dream Theater sound, but different, hard to describe but damn good.

Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos Finally the day has come, been eagerly anticipating this album, along with Kamelot's new album, Devin Townsends and to a lesser extent Sonata Arcticas (Unfortunately of the 4, this was the only one that managed to make it to the place where I went to buy it, what luck. ;))

Anyways I was really hoping that the guys of Dream Theater could pull off something big, and they did it, I've listened to the album twice and already its grown on me, every track on the album seems to fit in nicely, this is a stellar album from them, and glad they managed to really put out an album for the ages, superb work by the guys. :P This is definitely going to be in my top 3 favourite Dream Theater albums, also the bonus dvd on the making of the disc and a 5.1 mix of the album, all for 15.99, made this a well worth it purchase.

Kamelot - Ghost Opera Finally got a copy of this gem, that I have been waiting for since June 5th, when it didn't arrive at the store I was looking, dang distribution, but finally listened to it and got the special limited edition, with a bonus dvd, bonus track and making of their song "Ghost Opera", overall a really good album that am enjoying. Think it will continue to grow on me, not sure it ranks as high as their last album The Black Halo, but definitely close.

Lol, I'm sorry dude, but I caught that while reading your post and it cracked me up.

BTW - Do you have this CD by them?

I found that in my endless collection of CDs the other day and your post reminded me of it, I haven't listened to it yet, what kind of music are they exactly?

Yup course I have that album. :P One of their best albums imo, with Ghost Opera, Karma, Epica, following close behind.

Kamelot is a power metal band, basically that means the sound is rich with guitar, keyboard and lots of double bass drumming. In other words, the music tends to be epic, with symphonic influences, so a bit over the top in some places, with backing vocals and other instruments. Also the lyrics tend to be very fantasy based, but not always.

The Black Halo definitely is varied, from the slow ballads (Abandoned) to the crushing heaviness that is the March of Mephisto, to other faster paced tracks like (When the Lights are Down) overall it has a lot of different styles, a great overall album and one I would recommend for any newcomer to the band.

Whoa whoa, keyboard? What kind of keyboard? Is this like a organ type sound or that crazy new age stuff, cause either way that's awesome.

Think there is some organ on the black halo. Some of the keyboard sound is pure background type keyboards, to add to the atmosphere, and on some songs it is prevelant (When the Lights are Down, The Haunting, Moonlight, etc) lots of variety in terms of keyboard sound. :P

In terms of all the metal stuff, I keep it to Pain of Salvation, Nightwish, and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. That's enough of that for me...

I grabbed a whole bunch of music tracks from iTunes a while ago, and one I'm completely addicted to is Bjork's Earth Intruders. IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!
I have been informed that today is, in fact, opposite day, and what you've written there is absolutely true so you should probably just go.

Pain of Salvation is a great prog metal band, definitely one of my more recent favourite bands from about last summer when I started to collect their material, have all their albums to date.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum not even metal though.

Imo PoS isn't very good - though innovative progressive metal and in a sense truly listenable.
