Edguy- Hellfire Club Picked up my second album from Edguy, this one looked interesting, well compared with my other choice Rocket Ride, overall I think it's a pretty good album, some really good tracks like King Of Fools, but read around the net this is where they started to change their style from their past albums, but ah wells still like it.

Edguy, lol, funny band name.

I got the Silent Hill DVD with one of the most hideous covers I have ever seen, the movie is great, and so are the special features, but seriously, look at this piece of s**t cover.

Damn that be ugly, at least the side of it looks nice, which is what everyone will be seeing on my DVD rack.

Ew yeah what a cover.

Ours much different than that, much more darkish looking.

As for Edguy, yes agree one of the most silliest names. :P Here's the story of how they came up with it: "The name "Edguy" was an affectionate epithet for Mr. Edgar, their maths teacher at the time ."

Well every genre has it's silly name for bands, this is one of the cases. :P But  granted a lot of Edguy's discography is really excellent, especially their earliest stuff from Van Glory Opera, Theater Of Salvation, Mandrake and up to Hellfire Club, and finally getting attention the band after all the work have done, silly name and all.

Edguy- Rocket Ride Latest album by these guys decided to pick up, more of a hard rock album than metal one with the majority of the tracks which is kinda meh, but still overall pretty good, still want to pick up their older stuff, which will be quite the challenge.

Finally after not getting the album last week, Iron Maiden's is finally released after a long wait here in North America tomorrow, want to pick up the album with the limited edition dvd which has a documentary of the album making process and such, the last one they made on death on the road was great, so hopefully can pick it up, oh and picking up the gigantour dvd tomorrow too for some Megadeth, Dream Theater, Nevermore, Symphony X and well some other bands that haven't listened to.  :P

I bought

Wolfmother (Self Titled)

It's a really cool band, it's got a real retro sound, like Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple.

Well after much agony, waiting and more finally after a very unnecessary long delay I have it, and the special edition too.  ;)

Iron Maiden- A Matter Of Life And Death Well I had high hopes for this one, there last album Dance Of Death was superb and I was hoping they would be able to top that album. Happy to say they do so with this album, 10 tracks, and all around different sort of vibe from the guys, with some different music but it's still Iron Maiden, some of my favs are Different Worlds, These Colours Don't Run, Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, The Reincaration of Benjamin Baarg, as of right now this is the album of 2006 for me. :P  :P

Blind Guardian- A Twist In The Myth Other than the silly cover this album has, the followup to their last album which came in 2002, an excellent listen and shows the band is growing still even after so long, but sticking to their power metal roots, a great album, a blank oddly enough 13th track though that I think was the japanese bonus track that someone at nuclear blast records forgot to take off, got my hopes up sniff, still wicked album.  :P

Gigantour DVD picked up last week, showing off all the excitement of one of metals best festivals last yar, that I should have gone to sigh. Anyways showcasing performances from Megadeth, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Nevermore, Life Of Agony, Symphony X, Bobaflex, Dry Kill Logic, not the best choices all around for music songs I thought but still some great extras, like Dream Theater performing Cementary gates, that was awesome. :(

I went on a bit of a spree in HMV on Saturday, plus a couple of CDs arrived from Play the same day, so I managed to acquire In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (Neutral Milk Hotel), Feels (Animal Collective), Pause (Four Tet), MrScruff (Mr. Scruff), The Private Press (DJ Shadow) and Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Vol. II - overdid it a bit, really :(

I know what ya mean Beef, there's a huge HMV here that's two stories big and has so much music and movies, like it's the motherload of all things, metal included, they have lots of obsecure bands and many older releases too which is very hard to find, case in point bought Karma by Kamelot there which is practically impossible to find in the city because of the not so well known label they were on, like I say better hide your wallet or bring limited cash before you go to that particular HMV here. :(

Picked up while back just remembered Queensryche's- Q2K, it's prob there 2nd worst album imo, but this is the remastered edition, with 4 bonus tracks and plus you can't find the original anywhere because Atlantic the label they made the cd with, stopped selling it, so had to pick it up, mostly to finish off the Queensryche studio collection of mine, that's another one done. :(
