True, but there wouldn't be much point in asking for "The Lodger" or "Jamaica Inn" when chances of anybody knowing those are probably fairly slim, so obviously it'll have to be limited to the really famous ones. And this one is famous.

Rope?
Yep.:D

To explain the first two clues: Rope was essentially shot as a film consisting of a single long scene without any cuts. Obviously it still required several rolls of film, though (otherwise it would have been a very short film), so the dark jacket obscuring the camera occurs at the end of each roll. That is also the reason why when Hitchcock decided the the fake sunset was rubbish and far too orange (Rope was his first film shot in colour), he had to replace the entire roll containing the sunset, as opposed to just the bits when you actually see the sunset.

Ah, personally I didn't know about the one lengthy scene thing, but guessed hitchcock as he makes an appearance in all of his films as sort of an easter egg, and "something drastic" seems his style :D

---------------------------

The main character of this film likes Huey Lewis and fine suits.

And its one of my favorite movies ever.

I have a feeling Piggy will get it pretty easily, but eh.

Oh, yes, I forgot about the "something drastic" bit: they strangle a friend of theirs, hide his body in a chest right in the middle of the room before having his parents (and the professor) over for dinner.

No it isn't. I'm pretty certain anyone who has seen the movie will almost instantly know what it is.

I'm going to guess Forbidden Planet, and if that doesn't work I'm going to assume its some B grade sci fi movie I haven't seen.
