Whoo another FF 6 fan, actually I thought 7 was really good, but the fanboys definitely praise it way more than it deserves, 6 had what 14 playable characters, Terra and Celes were two also great characters, but my personal fav after Locke was Sabin.

Locke is awesome too, hes better than setzer character wise, but Setzer has a neater personality and has a really random and kinda useless special aility, which I like..
And...
Poisioning a whole town > "gay" laugh

Slot machine ability actually, the luck of the draw, where every stop of the game could lead to crazy results.

I'd have to say Charlie Gilman from Call of Cthulhu: Dcote. Being a freaky bulgy eyed manager of a motel, hearing him talking about having you killed in your sleep, having flashbacks of him slicing and dicing, finding bodies in his filing cabinets, sneaking out of his office, then immediately having him take you up to your hotel room...maybe not cool but definitely borders on freakishly creepy..
Funniest character in a game: Fawful,
Second funniest: Guybrush Threepwood
My vote for coolest character goes to......Leon from Resident Evil 4, gotta hand it to the guy for taking on hoards of zombies and spanish villagers, plus he got to beat up a little kid, how cool is that!

Pi stinks, tastes horribles, and I hate it! But cake is good...

What about Pip Boy from Fallout? Or Yuglash in ADoM? Hey, how'd you like to summon ancient karmic dragons to defend you, crush all opponents, and help you rule the world (or caves, in this case) in the process?
But seriously, Sev from Republic Commando is so cool. He's all hard-edged and stuff and destroys enemies in melee. Even so, it's hard to make a decision based on such short notice. Samus is also a very, very nice choice... Then again, so is Huang Gai of Dynasty Warriors, and Link, and Master Chief, and - ah, it's so hard! I declare this thread flawed because of it's hardness.

Maybe we should make some votings, with nominations and stuff.
Did something like that in another board. We nominated a bunch of characters and they were put up for votings in pairs of two.
Had two categories. One for Heroes, one for Villains.
Ironically, the Hero that won was Link and the Villain that won was Ganondorf XD
And in the final battle Link vs Ganondorf, it was a draw. The coin decided for Link ^^
I'm on vacation for 3 weeks from now on (26.06.2006)

Gamefaqs does something similar but the last few years it's always been the same Cloud winning the hero category and Sephripoth winning the villian. Cursed FF 7 fan boys.

I don't I just think if they keep winning every year and there's really no chance, at least exclude them for one year and see what happens.
I've kinda found Kyle Katarn from Dark Forces to be a kinda cool character.
