No fans of Tom Clancy in the audience?  :P I don't know I always find the odd read in some of his stories to be somewhat interesting in a fiction sort of way, kind of scenarios that could play out in today's world cause ya never know, the unexpected does happen.

Clancy?

He's alright, but he doesn't seem to have realised that the Cold War is actually over. The books are quite well written, though, I suppose.

Some of the scenarios he potrays in the series of books he does could in a way happen in today's global environment, although some are definitely way out there, still gives a nice perspective and a behind the scenes look into different agencies and the such although granted ya can't take it too seriously.

Well depends on the titles you read because yeah some of his earlier ones definitely have that feeling, his recent ones have moved away from that actually and more dealing with the aftermath since 9/11.

My first book that I read by him was none other than Rainbow Six, actually a pretty well done book I thought.

Indeed the game series has certainly gone downhill from the original but anyways.

Yes I thought the book was well written, it's been like 6 years since I last read it mind you, but it did provide a lot of interesting scenes and such involving the whole scenario that Rainbow 6 made famous with operatives stopping dangerous groups in high risk situations, it's a good 1000+ page  read for the brave.

Rereading A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge. A little different sci-fi and I admit, I like it.
