Gotta remember this video was done in 1990, cheesiness is so evident in this vid, overal though the song itself is a classic 10 guitar solos, all great, when Megadeth was at it's prime, personally this song should be on greatest guitar solos of all time, not freakin overrated to hell stairway to heaven.

Bill Bailey's second standup DVD features him recreating it with an over the top effects pedal and it's great. He even plays a bit with the banjo effect on - now that's strange and disturbing :0

It's a great solo not saying it's not, but many magazines have said the best of all time? No chance there is tons of solos out there that are much better.

I totally agree with Deathdude here there are too many better sounding solos, this is more or less a typical pentatlonic solo, now the song itself is great, but there are certainly better solos made...

I'd never say that's the best solo ever. Stairway to Heaven's, that is. I've never actually heard anyone saying that about it's solo, but... anyway. It's still a great solo, and one amazing song.
I also wouldn't say Megadeth's Hangar 18 had the best solo(s) ever, but they are impressive too. I don't really want to compare Jimmy Page's and Dave Mustaine's (and whoever else plays on Hangar 18) solos, the playing styles are too different.
