Can't believe this, my Dark Elf Priestess is still alive and kicking. I've sacrificed most of my spellbooks, which seems to be quite good idea, for my (new and neutral) deity seems to appreciate them much. But I've leaved few useful and valuable spellbooks to that puppycave. I've also done all the quests this far that I happen to know, which are: Yrrigs (well, I killed him, but anyways), Puppy (too late, but still) and that outlaw guy (whee, one really succesful!). And now I'm actually wondering where to go next? Any good ideas? I'm still at level 11, but I need only 5k exp to reach 12 and I've never had this strong character, mostly because of my wide spell-coverage, adamantium broad sword and tower shield and pretty well equiped otherwise. Any advice would be nice, because I just love her and don't want her end up dead just because of my lack of ideas where to go? Btw, I've been wandering for a short moment in that strangely changing cave southeast from that first village. Thanks in advance and I guess I know who'll help me, if she's still around!

Hmm, Yrrigs doesn't want to climb stairs after me so I can take him to the healer - is there a way to make him follow me upstairs?

I've noticed that monsters seem to follow you to next level if they stand next to you when you move up or down. I've even had that stupid sheriff with me in the bandit camp!

Well, that worked fine, but then I got poisoned by a giant spider and beaten up by a troll. Gah!

He might not have noticed you. Do you have stealth by any chance? Anyway, just wait for a couple of turns and he'll follow you.

@Juni: I think you're ready for the caverns of chaos. They're at about the same height as the village dungeon, but further to the west. You can either get there by crossing the river (if you've got swimming and have a waterproof blanket) or by walking through the swampy area at the bottom of the map - try not to get ambushed by hydras, lizard-men or undead, though...

Good luck Juni.  And when you get to the area, fight only 19 fights (don't becoem champino yet) the rewards you will get will be much higher if you leave it until you get a quest later on the the same dungeon (the village elder in dwarftown, also in the CoC.  He gives you lots of quests).

Just a small remark about spoilers. The white text isn't exactly hidden enough, in my mind.

I die a lot too - some pit vipers just poisoned a troll priest I randomly generated. It generated 2 merchants yesterday - interesting, but not a lot of use to a newbie!
If it's anything like Angband, the only way to avoid dying a lot is to practice, thereby dying a lot. You could try meatheaded characters (troll fighter, dwarf barbarian or something), they're slightly harder to get killed.

Well, my characters die a lot too. Once I get them past level 20 they rarely die, though.

Edit: Sorry, my brain's not up for swappage.
