Yeh, so did Citizen Kane, Donnie Darko, and Jacob's Ladder. You just won't find those reviews because all the reviewers decided to remove their critical bashing before they got left out of the "in" crowd.

"Jacob's ladder" was really killing me. Silent Hill 3 borrows a lot from it.

Not to mention Kane.

Silent Hill borrowed a little from Jacob's Ladder, mostly the subway scene (SH3) the gurney wheel (SH2) and the shaky monsters (All games).
SH borrowed from ALOT of different sources, including the Mannequins that were derived from a famous artist's pictures.

Personally Jacob's Ladder was my favorite pyschological thriller over The Shining even.
Citizen Kane was really good, how can you not like that?

Well I didn't like Stanley's "Shining". I can't say why, I just didn't.
But Carptenter's  "The Thing" gave me a lot of pants-changing. One can say that Silent Hill took some things from that movie as well.  

As for Kane, it is really a special movie- a monument of film art. Wells was also a great actor- there is a yugoslavian movie "The secret of Nikolay Tesla" where he had one of the major roles.

There is also a role of his unfinished movie somewhere in studio's basement. One who finds it will find a goldmine.

I just dusted off my Scarface collection, with all the action figures (one even yells "Say hello to mah leetle fren!" and I just remembered why I spazzed out and bought about 5 different DVDs of the same movies. It's so freaking great.
