Seems to be the feature now a days being used by a lot of developers, glad though you'll be able to buy it to play it all in one sitting if you want, glad they have that option.

Bleh, I generally don't like that idea.
It would really suck if they would release the episodes weekly and charge for every single of it.
But since you can buy them all in one go, it's not that bad.
But it will really cut into the atmosphere.
Imagine Silent Hill, where there's another scene with PH hunting you or something like that. Right in the middle of it, all of a sudden: "To be continued". Then you have to load the next episode and watch a review of the few minutes gameplay you just had a second ago.
It sucks.

Definitely cuts into the overal experience of the game, reminds me of the old tv shows where they would do that, so annoying on one hand, but since they will offer it in one go that's a good thing imo.

They forget one thing, video games arent the same as tv
Who actually plays exactly 30 min of a horror game every day, then stops?
It seems playing it in short bursts would destroy the atmosphere and feeling of the game

There's actually a free online flash game called Banja that is episodic. I used to play it a lot, it was weird and interesting, but I did eventually get tired of always waiting for episodes.
I don't think it's a bad idea... I like games that I can play for an hour or two and then put down and come back to later. If all games required marathon playing sessions to get to the end, I'd never be able to play games, I just don't have the time anymore.
Shenmue was really annoying, though, so for more "epic" games... maybe not.

Indeed never thought of that view point for gamers who don't have time or on the go the idea actually works well for them, and plus depending on the game some genres it could work with, especially if it's a long engrossing game experience.

I like that idea. It's the same with Bone and Sam and Max. Nowadays I only play games on Sundays (it's my sacred gaming time of the week). Otherwise it's work and spending time with girlfriend and friends. Those marathon sessions of my youth are few and far between nowadays

Half-Life 2 is episodic now also.
But at least it's very well done, the five hours you got in Episode One were better than the whole twelve hours of the original game.

They were too easy, though (apart from the zombies at the bottom of the lift part, that was brilliantly done)
