Hey there,
I'm a regular from the Abandonia Forums, and I just found a terrific fan-made freeware Sonic The Hedgehog game that I'd love to see on your guys' site!
I'll let the game's homepage do the talking:

Surely you have played, or at least heard of Sonic the
Hedgehog? SEGA's answer to the Super Mario Bros. was all the
rage back in the early 90s, and Sonic's adventures on the 16
-bit SEGA Genesis (a.k.a. Mega Drive) console are still
considered to be some of the greatest games of all time.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 cashes in on the glory of Sonic's Genesis
games, albeit in a very unique way. Sonic Team Junior (the
creators of Robo Blast) heavily modified a popular source
port of the GOD of first-person shooters, DOOM, and converted
it to play like a 3D version of a Genesis Sonic game. This
seems insane, but I must say, they did an AWESOME job!
In the game's single player mode, you play as either Sonic
himself, or his buddies Tails and Knuckles. Once again, Dr.
Eggman (a.k.a. Dr. Robotnik) wants to take over the world,
and you must race through the new 3D zones playing like you
would play the Genesis Sonic games: collecting rings, jumping
on badniks and freeing the cute animals, and getting to the
goal. Each zone has three acts, and in the third act of each
zone you fight Robotnik. The seven Chaos Emeralds have also
returned, and you must make it through their respective
Special Stages in order to collect them and become Super
Sonic.
Multiplayer is where this game really shines! You can play
split-screen on one computer with another player, OR you can
go online and play against up to 32 other players from around
the world! You can co-op or race in the single player zones,
or you can duke it out in VS matches, play Tag, or Capture
The Flag in specially-designed multiplayer zones!
The game's graphics are very well done, and succeed in re-
capturing the look and color of the Genesis Sonic games. The
classic Sonic sounds are there as well, plus the music is
absolutely breathtaking! The controls are a seamless mix of
Sonic and DOOM. You're able to comfortably move Sonic around
and have him jump and spin-dash with ease in the new 3D world
thanks to DOOM's revolutionary physics.
In conclusion, Sonic Robo Blast 2 may very well be the
greatest fan-made Sonic game ever made! Well, it might have
some competition when some other fine fans release the HD
remakes of the original Genesis Sonic Classics!
RATING: 5/5
