Basics:

That Night Before is a graphical point and click adventure game that was finished completely in 2005 by Scurvyliver Productions, the same company who brought you Fate of Monkey Island, and is separate into 4 parts.

Story:

Have you ever wanted to play a nice suspenseful serious Hitchcock adventure game? Yes? Well, too bad because this game takes its Hitchcock roots as seriously as it takes everything else.  You play the role of Ron Halloway, an 18 year old man who wakes up with amnesia. He can't remember what happened the night before, or what happened to his girlfriend, and he sets out to try to find out. He looks at the tavern, at the park, and at her house, but no sign of her is found. He follows the clues, and eventually comes across a sinister conspiracy involving a four million dollar inheritance, ending up way over his head and framed for his girlfriends disappearance. Will you help him get through this Hitchcock spoof?

Game play:

The Game play in the game is quite easy, and in a fun game, it's important to keep things like the GUI nice and neat. The interface is completely original, and the music is top notch. The graphics in the game are reminiscent of shows like The Simpsons and Futurama, and borrow heavily from their brand of comedy. The characters in the game all spoof
various film noir movies, staying funny throughout the whole game. The puzzles start out easy but get much harder as you progress, bringing a challenge to anyone who wants one. Unfortunately, you might have to deal with a couple pixel hunts on your journey, but fortunately, none of them are too serious, just like the game. A couple other minor problems are the games few little spelling errors and a hotspot bug where it shows two hotspots at once. Other than that, there thankfully isn't anything majorly wrong with the game.

Overall:

I played this game for a long time, but I never actually finished it. I am sorry I wasn't able to make a long enough review to suit it, but I will do it justice by giving it a 4, it's a good game, not deserving of a 5 but good in its own right, it has a lot of funny moments and good plot elements, I recommend it to any fan of movies that spoof other movies.
