Get yourself ready for the different fighters that want to challenge you, it is a tournament, and well the stakes are high, 1 loss and your out. So much to risk, but for the glory and probably power as always with winning such an illustrious tournament as this one. In the World Of Fighting, with your choice of eight characters plus two unlockable ones as you try to emerge as the top fighter. There is no story to speak of in this fighting game, just a tournament going on where the top fighters gather to fight and well that sort of idea. The controls too are not that hard to remember, two punch buttons, left and right and two kick, left and right, which you can choose in the options menu which default configuration you would like. Interestingly enough the game pays tribute to a certain famous fighting series. Not Street Fighter, but another one that goes by the name of Tekken. That is right from the graphics, to most notably the controls, this game is definitely similar to Tekken. Mainly the moves as you will notice are very similar to the style Tekken uses. Very precise and may seem a bit rough I would describe it as, you will know what I mean if you have ever played Tekken. It definitely takes a few rounds to get used to them but once you do you will have no problem busting out combos to use. That's right it is just fighting moves, no fireballs or flying hurricane kicks, just plain real fighting moves and throws. Graphically, the game looks superb. This is one of the games high points as it looks just fantastic in direct 3D mode, almost to some commercial titles out there, so nice job on this front. The music as well is also very well done and fit nicely with the different levels you fight in. From the waterfront, to the top of a skyscraper, to a secluded area, they all are nice picks to the areas you explore. The difficulty also increases as you get further, so it gives the game that much more challenge. Very similar in nature to the arcade fighting games that does the exact same thing. This brings me to the one life scenario in the game. That is right, in this fighting game, you lose twice in the fight, game over. Usually you would expect some rather continues like in most fighting games, nope not in this one. That was very disappointing especially when you get near the end, lose a close fight, and have to start that long process again. As well, some may find the whole combos process annoying, but like I said give it a few rounds and see you should get the hang of it soon enough. I definitely thought this was a very superb fighting game and highly recommended you check out this high quality title, you can even play with a friend on the same computer to see who is the better fighter. So check out World Of Fighting and see for yourself.
