      ”Have a gun and go shoot humans and/or aliens”. That’s the story you are getting in Nexuiz. Don’t take me wrong, not having a story can sometimes be a good thing and in this game it is. Welcome to the world of campaign deathmatch, welcome to the world excitement, welcome to Nexuiz.
      The game starts off with an easy first match against some easy bots in an easy level, this may start out a little strange, you ripping your hair out for example, but not for long, when you get the hang of the controls(which is about 5 minutes) you start to be a lean mean killing machine, killing everything in sight! This is cool, and don’t forget it.
      The game plays the same as quake 2. Take a gun, go blast the enemy, repeat. This may sound boring but it’s a lot of fun. It had me hooked for a long time. The beginning was slow and boring but if you stick with it you’ll get totally addicted! The gamemodes are: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Capture the Flag and Domination, each with different varieties. All of the game modes are different so you won’t get bored easily.
      The game is designed to be multiplayer, so don’t excpect a deeper meaning. The game features(thankfully) an in-game server search. So it isn’t hard to find a good server to play on. Unfortunately there aren’t very many servers, and the servers that are there are full of bots. This affects lifespan of the game, negatively. But the singleplayer is nice and you can even host your own servers.
      The sound track is a nice techno beat. But you don’t actually listen to it because the guns sound so good. Who needs music when you got guns? Some guns sound good, some sound really bad. They sound like a potato gun or something worse… But that’s only some.
      The guns have a nice variety, ranging from laser to machine gun, sniper to shotgun. All of them have a secondary fire mode and each require a different play style. And what’s best, most are automatic(just hold down the mouse).
      Nexuiz is a fun shooter with a variety of weapons. Quake and Unreal Tournament fans with love this. People who are not familiar should try this out and enter the brutal world of tournament deathmatch! I give this game a 3.8 out of 5. So go on, whip out your machine gun and go hunt aliens!
