Mr Pratt 2 Reviewed by: DeathDude Positive Points: Changing levels Some thinking puzzles Great music Negative Points: Similar looking areas Repetitive nature Genre: Arcade Size: 9.39 MB Requirements: Windows Questionable Content: 13+ Violence, Editor rating: 3.8 Homepage: http://www2.bouncingfox.co.uk/downloads.php?game=18&download=yes Download location: http://www2.bouncingfox.co.uk/downloads.php?game=18&download=yes It seems whenever there is a spooky dark mansion, which usually means as well that there is trouble afoot. As is this case with this next game, our hero Mr. Pratt has to deal with some zombies, evil bats, spiders and more in his mansion, which have returned to reign vengeance or something along those lines. With some interesting ideas for each of the rooms that you explore, some interesting puzzles that will make you think before you act, and some great suspenseful music, all add together in this game. When a legion of different monsters decide to invade the mansion of retired chemistry professor Mr. Pratt, he knows what he must do, defeat them in the art of combat of course. Therefore, Mr. Pratt sets out to defeat the monsters that have invaded and bring peace and tranquility to the world again. Also clearing the danger from his mansion that he managed to earn on a teacher's salary, especially one so grand, ah wells it'll remain a mystery for the ages. Controls in this game are simple. Move with the left and right arrow keys, jump with the up arrow key and shoot with the space bar. You have to first collect a weapon in each room and then you can start blasting away. The objective is to clear every room of all the monsters, once you do so you can move onto the next one and continue eliminating the threat. Graphically the game looks nice overall. Most of the environments do look the same in terms of the colours used but that general feeling of a dark and spooky mansion; it's definitely shown nicely. The challenges in each room are pretty varied, and they do get progressively harder as you proceed further and further in the mansion. Conserving ammo is especially important in some areas; while avoiding enemies to get your weapon to start doing some damage may be important in another level too. The music also thought fit the mood of the game very nicely. Sort of a dark and suspenseful and just really added to the whole element of the darkness and searching through the mansion. The sound effects also are present and all accounted for, no cheesiness or sounds that will make you go, what the heck was that. The only thing with all the exploration is that it's repetitive after awhile. Clearing each room will take some time and there is many to explore, but eventually just having to do the same thing, even when changing around some of the mechanics of the room, with enemy placement and platforms. Also would have been nice if there were some more variety to the mansion itself, mostly using the whole dark colour idea is good and all but even some bright rooms would not have been a bad thing either. Still this was a pretty good game if your looking for a platform game to try out, so give it a try and see for yourself. It's called Mr Pratt 2 and see what you think.
