As always in ninja games, there is another ninja, an evil ninja! That's right the evil ninja, but this time around the evil ninja does not want to fight you fairly oh no. No what he is doing this time around is he wants to summon a powerful 2000 year old demon to raise havoc on the land. However, of course the catch since most cases there has to be a human sacrifice to the demon, which unfortunately for our hero is his wife! So Red Lotus must go forth with his silly name and all and rescue his wife and defeat this evil ninja and prevent the resurrection from occurring. What we see in Dragon Ninja Sage, is a good plot, combined with good action, great music, nice graphics and much more is in store for our hero. As has been mentioned every 2000 years there is an opportunity to summon a powerful demon named Nogachi but in order to do so an innocent must be sacrificed. Enter the ninja evil master Houmaru who has kidnapped our hero's wife Yamiko for the sacrifice. So it is up to our hero Red Lotus to save her before this can all happen. Preventing a demon rising on this day, as most ninjas have to do as part of their ninja training or something. I thought in this case that the story was well done, as detail has been used to convey the story. But granted other than the intro screen there is not much info to go by in the rest of the game, only knowing that as you progress you get further and further to catching up to Houmaru and saving Yamiko. The graphics and animations in game are also done well, with attention to the different environments, each varied and with lots of colour and scenery to see as you explore the different worlds. As well the music that is chosen fits in perfectly with the game and really is done quite well as it changes from level to level. As well, the many enemies along the way will provide you with much action. Therefore, you have to think sometimes about how you will have to dispatch them without causing significant injury to yourself. Thankfully, you have many different weapons to use such as ninja stars, bombs and even powerful ninja magic to aid in your journey. The game gets progressively harder as you proceed, with the addition of different enemies but as well you begin to start to see the same enemies repeated as well. The game difficulty consequently gets pumped up and really leaves little room for error. You do get 3 continues and if you die on the first part of a level, you sometimes are given the opportunity to skip that level and go on the next part, very nice feature at times. Still Dragon Ninja Sage, was a very interesting game and provided a different perspective to the platform genre and was done very well I thought. So if you like Ninjas, ninja related weapons and fighting evil ninjas this is the game for you, so check it out.
