CoolDog Reviewed by: DeathDude Positive Points: Interesting levels Funny interactive objects Difficulty is not too hard Negative Points: Some odd feeling of control No story Genre: Arcade Size: 1.56 MB Requirements: Windows Questionable Content: None Editor rating: 4.2 Homepage: None Download Location: Hosted at AR (Leave download location blank) It is not everyday you see a dog in a starring role in game, even better it is not everyday you see a dog and his sidekick a mouse together fighting the evil! Okay maybe not fighting evil in this case, but still we have a dog and mouse team that work together to get the job done. In CoolDog, besides the coolness that this game has going for it, with it's name, what you get is different challenges across 29 levels, and 5 bonus levels where different challenges await you gamer. With its different challenges, interesting interactive objects, and just an all around different experience, this title presents a fun challenge. Unfortunately, we do not have a story line for this game, so let's just say that the dog and mouse team have decided to rid many locations of it's neon lights by working together. The dog armed with his water gun to strike down the enemies that oppose them, and your mouse partner who will turn off these lights, to prevent the waste of electricity! Okay maybe not but anyways that's your goal in the game, turn off all the green neon lights by protecting your mouse partner as he does that and using our cool dog to make sure no one stops your effort. First off with each passing levels, the challenge level goes up fairly quickly. At first with the levels, they are standard fair, but eventually they really start to make you think. You are not invincible and have a limited hearts and only two lives, so you have to be careful where you leap, as well you only have a limited supply of water for your water gun. There are refills though throughout the levels as well as many opportunities to get yourselves points from the many boxes scattered across the levels. What is also pretty interesting is the different objects that you can shoot that are interactive, like the computer in the first level or the clock some interesting things happen to them, some obvious and some not so much. The difficulty level also I thought wasn't super hard, it gets more challenging as you go through but it's manageable and not super crazy hard or anything. There is an odd feeling of control in game sometimes especially with jumping around; it takes some time to get used to it. The lack of a story also I think hurt the game a bit even something simple would have been better than nothing would. The music in game though was pretty well done I thought, it is the type that might you might like or might just annoy you quickly. Overall though this was a fun game that is enjoyable to play and definitely is a good time waster as there is lots to cover with 29 levels, so check out CoolDog and see what all the coolness is about.
