A Game With A Kitty Reviewed by: DeathDude Positive Points: Good graphics Easy Controls Pretty good sound Negative Points: Difficulty level Genre: Arcade Size: 1.75 MB Requirements: Windows Questionable Content: None Editor rating: 4.1 Homepage: http://www.origamihero.com/ Download Location: http://www.origamihero.com/#3 Ah what a nice title to see, simple a game with a kitty, I can imagine a lot of thought went into the title, but that really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. You’re not playing a game for its title right? I really hope your not, you should be playing based on the experience that you will get out of the game. Well with this simple platform game, you will get that experience quite nicely. Although the author himself says that the game was developed in only a couple of weeks, the game itself still looks overall very nice and all around it’s a pretty good platform game, so on we go to find out more. The story starts out simple enough, seems the village of our kitty hero has decided that he has been chosen to explore the mysterious tower and learn more about it basically, since well the village doesn’t exactly have the greatest trust or faith in our hero. Typical attitude you would expect for a platform hero, no respect. Anyways so our wannabe hero goes out to discover the truth. So let’s start off with the graphics, which look pretty good I thought. Kind of hard to believe that this was all done in 2 weeks, overall they look very nicely done, props to the developer. The environments look nice although there is the use of similar colors for some of them; it conveys the mood of the game and is done nicely for the type of game that is being expressed. Sound wise the game also does a nice job, no really annoying sound effects, although that is probably debatable, and the music I thought was alright, if you want you have the option to turn off the music though at any time in the game if you don’t want to hear it, so that was good to have that option. Finally, controls are easy to pick up and play and should not be too much trouble for most, you cannot customize the controls though, so your stuck with the default set up, although I didn’t find any problems with it, there is a possibility in the future that you will be able to customize the controls the author has mentioned. As with most platform games the difficulty level may get you frustrated when you start playing, as well as the navigating through the different parts of the levels that can be a challenge for some. Especially when you have to do some back tracking and such to get to a different part of the level to gather an item. Yet this was a fun platform game to experience and glad I got to try it out and see for myself, so you too should give it a look, even with the quirky title, check it out and see for yourself.
