My recommendation:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Great program and free, I use it for all my song recordings. Well for practice mostly then do main recording with abobe audition at dvoe's place.

Thanks for the good tip, I'll give it a try!

Edit (after first try): Okies, I knew it and I blew it! No, actually this will work quite nicely when my voice gets back. It's been a little bad due the weather (ciggies have absolutely nothing to do with it!)

Program is excellent, but I for some unknown reason can't get the best out of me. If I ever do, you'll hear it, but I'm giving up for now. However, I'm taking a new project for now and if I learn it, I may post Deep Purple's Perfect Strangers, if it sounds good. But until that, I'm staying silent.

Perfect Strangers eh, now that's a good song, believe me hard to do because of the high and low octive range during most of the verses and really I have a hard time pulling off a somewhat decent version without the actual melody in the background meaning my voice is on top of the melody, and also because I'm using the Bruce Dickinson and James Labrie versions of the original song not the original hehe. If you post yours, I'll post my version, hehe. :bleh:

That's a deal! But remember, I post only if I succeed.

I know it's bloody hard song, but I know I can do it, at least somewhat well. I've sang Highway Star and Smoke on the Water pretty well in karaoke and almost acceptably Bohemian Rhapsody. Sounds exaggerating? Possibly, but it's only bragging! :D

Alright then a deal it is.  :D I won't even touch bohemian rhapsody that's like Freddie's song and I have heard many artists try heck even my favourite singer Bruce Dickinson couldn't do a good version of the song. :bleh:

Anyways since this is Tai's topic and well why don't ya join in Tai? How about it 3 perfect stranger covers for bragging rights, c'mon ya know ya wanna. :w00t:

DD, excellent idea, Tai, come on! Unfortunately my version is delayed a little as my throat is on fire at the moment, but I believe I can handle it in a week, two at max.

You know Juni, if you didn't wake up every day with a hangover, I bet it'd do wonders for your vocals :D

By the by, I'm highly disappointed, I'm sure my song isn't nearly as complex as Perfect Stranger :w00t:

Oh... and if my dad got the Christmas present I asked for, you guys might see a serious revival of this topic (microphone pre-amp for mic, guitar, and bass input/output)  :bleh:

Edit: (and I still am planning on getting that keyboard out of storage now that my uncle is out of the house, and his room is to be the new office - making more room for my stuff, whee)

It isn't its complexity. There're other reasons behind it.

:w00t: Oh Tai Perfect Strangers isn't a complex song, didn't I send ya the song aways back with Bruce Dickinson on vocals? :bleh: It really is quite an easy  instrumenal song, well let's face it most of deep purple songs are easy like 2-3 chords to play on guitar, like smoke on the water, it's not complex but a good test of range especially the verses, come on Tai try it out, would be a good test, besides I got to sing another version, heard my last one and was like uh no *delete* :D

And hopefully ya get those things ya wanted for Christmas Tai, would be an awesome addition. :D
