Nightwish - Wishmaster
The title song, Wishmaster, has the famous misheard lyrics, and it's always fun to hear that.  The whole album has a wonderful range of insane drumming, heavy guitars, and excellent operatic vocals.  A good addition for any collection.

Nightwish - Oceanborn
This is one of the earlier albums.  It's interesting to hear, but in my opinion, you still can't beat the combination of Marco's raw vocals together with Tarja's operatic singing that you get in the later albums.

Well, I somehow acquired a bunch of movies recently:

Atomic Age Vampire (haven't seen this one yet)
Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman (50's classic, not seen yet)
Attack Of The Giant Leeches (50's monster, haven't seen it yet)
Barbarella (Jane Fonda. Nuff said :P and shiploads of kitch and camp)
Battleship Potemkin (one of the most important films ever, bringing editing to a whole different level)
Blade Runner
Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The (1919, not seen but a must-see)
Creature From The Black Lagoon, The (50's classic monster movie)
Devil Girl From Mars (50's space invaders movie, not seen)
Dracula (1931 with Bela Lugosi, not seen)
Dr Strangelove (with Peter Sellers)
Faust (1926, not seen)
Frankenstein x2 (the Karloff version and one from 1910, neither seen)
Frankenstein, The Bride Of (another of the classic Frankenstein movies)
Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman (haven't seen)
Gamera The Invincible (50's-60's monster movie. Not seen yet)
It Came From Outer Space (1953, space invaders movie)
Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter (1966, not seen)
Killers From Space (1954, space invaders movie, not seen)
Les Vampires episode 1 (1915, pretty damn good one and I really need to get the other episodes)
Mad Monster, The (1942, werewolf movie of sorts. Not seen)
Nosferatu (yes, that Nosferatu movie. Just bleedin brilliant :D)
Phantom From Space (1953, space invaders probably. Not seen)
Phantom Of The Opera, The (1925, not seen)
Reefer Madness (1936, one of the most laughable movies ever, according to rumour)
(EDIT: I have started to see this one and this movie must be seen to be believed, For this movie I will give you the forewords:
The motion picture you are about to witness may startle you. It would not have been possible, otherwise, to sufficiently emphasize the frightful toll of the new drug menace which is destroying the youth of America in alamingly increasing numbers. Marihuana is that drug -a violent narcotic-an unspeakable scourge -The Real Public Enemy Number One! It's first effect is sudden, violent, uncontrollable laughter; then come dangerous hallicunations -space expands- time slows down, almost stands still....fixed ideas come next, conjuring up monsterous extravagances -followed by emotional disturbances, the total inability to direct thoughts, the loss of all power to resist physical emotions...  leading finally to acts of shocking violence... ending often in incurable insanity. In picturing its souldestroying effects no attempt was made to equivocate. The scenes and incidents, while fictionized for the purpose of this story, are based upon actual research into the results of Marihuana addiction. If their stark reality will make you think, will make you aware that something must be done to wipe out this ghastly menace, then the picture will not have failed in its purpose.... Because the dread Marihuana may be reaching forth next for your son or daughter.... or yours.... or YOURS!) For the record, I don't touch the stuff, and now I do not dare to ;)
Robot Monster (THE worst movie in movie history, no less. Brilliantly braindead :P)
She Beast, The (1966, Not seen)
She Gods Of Shark Reef (1958, not seen)
Star Wars Holiday Special (Lucas rrreeeaally made a fatal mistake there, partially seen but it's hard to watch)
Teenage Zombies (1959, not seen)
Teenagers From Outer Space (1959, not seen)
Terror In Tiny Town (an all midget western, pretty decent acually)
Trollenberg Terror, The aka The Crawling Eye (1958, pretty good space invaders movie with a nice ghostly feel and a silly alien, just revisited)
Werewolf In A Girls Dormitory (1963. Yep, a werewolf movie, partially seen)
Wolf Man, The (1941, Lon Chaney Jr. Not seen)
Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, The (1910, not seen)

Heh I guess so ;) I decided to take up collecting again. I had a few VHS vids years ago, but they got stolen. Now I have a rather big HDD :P I have more of them, but these are the ones I got in the last two days.

PS: My favourite is M, a masterpiece from Fritz Lang. If you want a sparkling gem of a crime story, that's the movie to see :P

Someone likes Rage, HIM and Radiohead? What I'm interested of, is why did you buy And Love Said No? If I don't remember wrong, most of the songs are already in the albums you bought...

Porcupine Tree - Up the Downstair Picked this up yesterday, haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. This is very early material from Steven Wilson, before he actually had a band, so most of the material was done by him, including the drums which were electronically produced for this album. But the version I have is the 2004 remaster, which besides better production soundwise, also includes real drums done by Porcupine Trees current drummer Gavin Harrison.

Well, I did manage to get all the Hedningarna albums just now, and they're totally wicked \o/ Ancient Swedish folk mixed with something modern I can't put a label on.

Oh... and I got my movie #100 today :P YAY!

Nightwish - Angels Fall First

Wow!  There is not a bad thing I can say about this album - I loved it from start to finish.   :P

Elvenpath is kinda like the One Ring, which is an excellent start.   ;)   The title song - Angels Fall First - is very angelic, with Tarja showing off her wonderful voice.  Tutankhamen has some very Egyptian style flutes, and it is a lovely treat to hear it.  Nymphomaniac Fantasia is very haunting.  Lappi (Lapland) is an epic song that  comes in 4 parts.

Wonderful cd  *listens to it again*   :P

It is an excellent album, though imo not their best. Tutankhamen is really good - but even still I like Marco plus Tarja combination much ever. Angels Fall First is a good album, unfortunately it doesn't have Marco in it.
