The Descent - UK version.

Ack! Personally that creeped me out like hell.
Ending wasn't bad too =)

Theres supposedly gonna be a sequel, which probly will be "meh", hope if they do it it will stay good like the first and not ditch suspense for all out gore like they did with the Saw series (bolth are Lionsgate).

After reading up on it in Wikipedia I found out there were a couple of things I managed to miss, which just made it even cooler =D

Won't spoil anything, but if you like Horror / Suspense (there is some gore though, so more horror) I'd suggest seeing it, one of the better recent horror releases that I can think of (list is pretty short =\)

Just got the new Faithless album (To All New Arrivals), which is superb.

Also got Battlestar Galactica Series One (the new, really good one, rather than the old one, which is tedious and clichéd). Amazingly good show, glad I got a copy when there were about 3 left in the shop.

Evergrey- Recreation Day Limited Edition

A Band that I started to recently get into from Sweden, picked up an earlier album by them as I posted here earlier, so picked up the album that came after that one, and wow glad I did (plus I got it 25% off from HMV) great album much more heavier then In Search Of Truth, came with an extra bonus track which is pretty interesting, turning into another of my favourite bands.

Evergrey- The Inner Circle Next album after the last one I bought and a completely different listen from the last one. While Recreation Day was more heavier, this one is definitely more progressive and more melodic and it really is strong, its also a concept album and the version I picked up came with 3 bonus tracks from their acoustic tour in France in 2004, which was nice, my next purchase of Evergrey I will make... their live dvd!

Having heard Nightwish's lovely cover of Walking in the Air on the freakzone on 6 Music (that station's easily the best thing on the BBC - practically worth the license fee alone) over christmas at my dad's I decided to get a few albums - I decided to avoid the best of and randomly got Once, Oceanborn and Century Child in the sales in HMV and Virgin on my birthday, coincidentally spread over about 6 years of releases and accidentally including that very cover (hadn't even seen it till I ripped the mp3s earlier). Not my usual thing, but quite interesting if I'm in the right frame of mind :D

Oceanborn is one of their best albums. :D Talented band, will be interesting to see who they will get to replace Tarja, not liking them as much as I first did, really want to check out Epica, shame that there is no material from them around here, prob got to order something off amazon.

Beefy, you perhaps picked the three best albums from Nightwish (if I only could choose three best :D). If I remember correctly, there were couple of thousand new singers to choose from and now - as they apparently aren't taking more applications - they will announce the date when they will let us know, who'll be the new lead singer. Personally, I can't wait... *goes checking out if there's anything new at their home page*

Immediate edit:

Nightwish home page said:

16.01.2007 - The auditions for the new vocalist have ended
The auditions for the new vocalist have ended, with more than 2000 demos sent to us. (yesterday, 15.1. we received 120 demos!) A big thanks to everybody! So please don`t send anymore demos, since now we need to concentrate on finishing the album recordings.

The new vocalist will be announced at the end of May, together with the release of a new single.

...70 years... LOL

Twin Cinema- The New Pornographers
Usually I respond to this whole "power pop" thing with blatent homophobia, but as much as I'd like to hate this band, I can't stop listening to this fantastic indie production.

Replicas- Gary Numan/Tubeway Army
Just look at the album cover!

Pain of Salvation- Scarsick Been looking forward to this album for awhile, although was a bit unsure after hearing a lot of opinions from people saying the album was not great and such (back when it leaked in December) managed to find the last copy today and wow amazing album, Daniel Gildenlöw has done it again, odd surprise too that it is after all (despite numerous denials from him) The Perfect Element Part 2 that fans have been waiting for, can see why some may not like, the album is very progressive, much more so than their other releases, with some strange tracks coughdiscoqueencough nevertheless its awesome and enjoy it, could live without the scary cover though. :ok:

Replicas is brilliant - Are Friends Electric?, Down in the Park, etc etc. Fantastic album. I really like Pure, too - much more recent Gary Numan album, noticeably heavier than most of his work.
