Rhapsody- Dawn of Victory My first Rhapsody album! And it won't certainly be my last one, this is a great unique metal band from Italy, and picked up their 3rd album here, haven't listened to it yet, but have heard great things, truly an epic band. ^_^

I bought a CD with movie music. Well, to tell the truth, the majority of these tracks are classical things.... I'm cheated actually. I mean I bought Brandenburgh concert because it is music for Kramer Vs. Kramer. Not much of a soundtrack, eh? Not to mention Beethoven's 9th because of " Clockwork Orange".

But I like classical, I guess it is fine.

I also bought the first Ice Age the other day.

The new Tool album arrived this morning, and it's fantastic - highly recommended to any fans of metal and cool packaging; the CD comes with a pair of steroscopic lenses on one side, and the liner notes are full of pictures which have some great 3D effects when you look at them through the lenses - Tool outdoing themselves again after the last one ^_^

Oh, and the music's great too - I'm only halfway through track 2 and I'm loving it!

The CD comes out here on Tuesday and I'll be picking it up, 12 bucks so good deal. Vicarious is a great track that's the only track I know, but interested to see how it sounds, mixed opinions with some people loving it and some hating it, and some saying not much change since Lateralus.

Oh and Beef just for the record Tool is not metal but hard rock. ^_^

@Beef  Im probably gonna pick up the Tool album just for the sweet packaging . Looks even cooler than Lateralus was. Anyway heres a few of the cds I've accumulated over the last few weeks:

Edguy - Hellfire Club- Classic power metal with a vocallist very much like Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. Some of the catchiest metal ever. (8.5/10)

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall- Yes, I like some music outside of metal. I simply love this man's voice and the songwriting is light years ahead of the manufactured predictable garbage that mainstream pop turned into during the 90s. (7.5/10)

Sonata Arctica - For the Sake of Revenge DVD/CD- Probably the best purchase I've made all year. Amazing live performance recorded just a few weeks before the show I attended. Rock solid performances and incredible lengthy setlist. Sonata Arctica is a power metal force to be reckoned with. I'd recommend this to all fans of music, not only 'metal heads'.  (10/10)

Elvenking - The Winter Wake- Extremely dissapointing album from these folk pioneers. The loss of their main songwriter is blaringly apparent and all the good ideas are just rehashes of the last album. This band peaked early and is on the fast track to mediocrity....and with a name like that..pity :P (5/10)

Stratovarius - Elements Part 1- Widely known as the most progressive and symphonic stratovarius release. Was highly controversial when it came out but its good to see that the majority was wrong. This is an amazing power metal album with more prog than on any previous strato release. Amazing performances and instantly memorable. (8/10)

Finntroll - Visor Om Slutet- Their unplugged acoustic album. Imagine polka metal with acoustics around a camp fire...........need I say more (7/10)

I also got some more albums from Amon Amarth and Gamma Ray but I'm getting tired of typing.  LOL  Seriously people, check some of these bands out! I mean these days with internet torrents what do you have to lose??!! Good Day. ^_^

Whatever. ^_^ It does sound a lot like Lateralus with a bit of APC thrown into the vocal performance, which adds some much-needed variety.

As soon as it gets out, I'm going to buy "End of an Era"-DVD. It was recorded in last autumn and it's the last one where Tarja performs. Must buy. Comes out in early June.

Somewhat interested to see how that turned out, as indeed last Nightwish show with Tarja, we'll see prob be a hard find here at least, have to resort to amazon.

Oh yeah and heard that Tarja recently signed a deal with universal in Europe, so looks like her solo career is a go soon.

Last Friday preordered a new addition to my collection, Iced Earth's- Alive in Athens 3 CD set, they only sell the 2 CD set here, so gotta import it from some place in Europe, anyways been meaning to pick it up but high cost for it, but got a little bit of help to cut down the cost, and so it's on it's way can't wait to hear it, some even say this is one of the best ever metal live concerts ever.

Rhapsody- Symphony Of Enchanted Lands- Been meaning to buy more albums from these guys, as they really are a very talented band, bought their second album and wow this is amazing, mixes classical melodies with some folk and even keltic it's amazing, must buy more. ^_^ Probably one of the best buys made in awhile I think.

Tool- 10,000 Days- 13 bucks and after hearing Vicarious picked this up to check it out, haven't listened to it yet but plan to, crazy cover and really nifty. But the title sounds so un Tool like.

Rhapsody's three first albums are great, but after that they go downhill. Even though they still sound like Rhapsody, the heavier stuff that comes after those just sounds somehow... mainstream or something.

Definitely right about that. Legendary Tales and Symphony of Enchanted Lands are incredible, their tops imo, Dawn of Victory is still good but notice that's when they lose their stride a little, still going to pick up the last 2, actually they were recently dropped by their label awhile back, sad news. :P
