Well you knew it was coming, yes you did and if you didn't well it's here now, time to talk about your favourite drummer, who's your fav and how come, what makes your choice so good in comparison to others. This time around I need to think up who my fav is.

So on with the show.

[pointless interlude]
Every man who plays in a band is
wonderful, too -
I've got to give credit
where credit is due -
but when it comes to make that music hot,
make it give you all it's got,
I'm right here to tell you, mister,
no-one can like the drummer man...

After some thought finally managed to think up choices either Neil Peart from Rush or Nico Mcbrain from Iron Maiden both superb drummers.

Good ol Rush. One of Canada's most famous exports for bands.

My favourite is John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. Rest in peace, Bonzo.

Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater is one of the best drummers in the world for sure. Check out some of his stuff, its unreal. Neil Peart is a good choice as well.

I'm also gonna go against the grain and say that Lars Ulrich from Metallica is one of the more creative drummers out there. I think its more trendy than anything to hate Lars and Metallica these days (DD I'm looking at you ;)). If you doubt Lars' drumming ability just check out the ...And Justice for All record.

Dvoe trust me I have no ill feeling towards Metallica, I think they are a great metal band, their old material is classic, but uh I hate to say this, only have two words to say: St. Anger   and really Lars is the only member who is not my fav.

Who knows honestly I can imagine the conversation went a little something like this:

Lars: Hey guys check out this new drumming sound I can use.

James: Uh Lars those are trash cans.

Lars: Oh yeah, heh let's use it!

Just kidding of course, no offense to Metallica

That whole album was so painfully naff though. Blech!

@Overlord - John bonham; good call, how could I forget him? The live DVD performance of Moby male genital is gloriously self-indulgent ;)

Having just seen Ladytron, their drummer is pretty good. He does seem to be imitating Dave Grohl's facial hair a few years ago though.

EDIT: Moby male genital?!
