I meant removing the dark bit right next to his left cheek and make the rest look as though it's his shadow. The light is coming somewhere from the left... or is it?
Come to think of it, that might be why he stands out so much: he's lit by more than just one light source (there's one left, right and centre, I think, but definitely more than one), whereas the background just has one light source.

You do realize it's not meant to be 100% realistic?
I mean, unless you commonly see scenery as purple, distorted, and faded?

Going to soften the hard edges, round them off.. add some blur and transparency. First piece in a few months, what'd you all think?

Looks very nice.
Have you tried what it looks like if you shift the light area a little to the right, though? Not much, just something like half an inch. It might make it look a little more dynamic than when it's sitting bang in the middle.
Then again, it might not, but I suppose it's worth a try.

'tis indeed worth a try. I'm also thinking about softening up the edges. I was planning to put something in that right hand space. Couldn't think of anything in the end
Moving the middle section makes sense though, cheers Rafs!
@Moogle - Small? It's not small.. you're just used to SUPER FRICKING HUUUGE!

Unfortunately, my entire gallery appears to have been taken offline as a result of a crash over at Sovereigncraft.com. This may mean my entire gallery has been lost, hopefully this isn't the case but we shall see. I'll have to contact the webmaster, until then I'll host via my old Photobucket account. If I make anything, that is.
Just a heads up for anybody that was browseing.

As do I, doesn't seem likely. I thought it may have been a server transfer, James had spoken about this before but it's taken a while and nothing has happened yet. Nor have I seen him, which sucks.

SovereignCraft isn't dead, there was a site upgrade planned. Due to an administrative error, the updates being brought forward and all old content is currently locked away somewhere and may be lost forever.
On a ligther note, I sat through a tutorial that Havell pointed out to me. Not quite finished yet, I thought I'd share anyway.
