Aiee. Just after I perched myself in a good position too. For the love of cod never do that again!

Once again I am so very, very sorry.

Not too much mead on show in York sadly.

it was great with sword fish.
]On the topic of swordfish (well, almost), my mum and I were in a fishmonger's in Portugal one holiday, with all sorts of fish in ice on display, and I said somehting like "Look, they've got swordfish" to which she replied "How can you tell it's swordfish?"

Pointing out that the large pointy thing wrapped in foil and attached to the other end of the steak was the sword was rather enjoyable :)

Also, mead is tasty.

Oh yeah, my boss might have said shark, I'm not sure. It was some fish that is not common in Sweden at least.
Well, swordfish isn't common here. So if it was Icelandic, i really really really doubt it was swordfish.

Shark and brennivín are the golden mix, though.
Man, shark tastes good  :)

I'v never had shark :) It's REALLY expensive in the shops so I'm not planning on having any soon either. The most exotic I've eaten is probably swedish Älg (I think the english word is moose or elk).

I'd never eat anything from sea. Do I have gills or fins?

@MdaG Doesn't sound very exotic... :) Haven't you had even reindeer ever? Well, couldn't say I've had very exotic food, but at least a bit more than that! ;)

Ok, I've had Ren (raindeer?), but I prefer Älg.

By the same reasoning you could refuse to eat chicken because you don't lay eggs...;)

Believe it or not, to non-Scandinavians elk and reindeer meat IS exotic. Sad but true. I've never eaten either, and I'm not very likely to in the near future. Until my best friend and her boyfriend emigrate to Norway and I have a handy excuse to go there, that is.;)

@A.J. Raffles I don't even have to believe you, I know it anyways. But we both are Nordic and to us it's far from exotic. IMO. As MdaG said, even any kind of shark is exotic to us. So it's true, it's all about perspective.

What does shark taste like, by the way? I'd expect it to be tough and a little dry, but that's probably all wrong.

Not dry at all :)

It's got REALLY strong flavour... Some people say it tastes like piss, but i've never tried piss. So I wouldn't know.

Can't really describe it...

I'm sure it's good. People claiming it tastes like *insert something disgusting here* are often the same people who doesn't dare taste anything else than the stuff they've grown up eating. I guess it's an aquired taste...
