Well, after a truly amazing night at the Sonata Arctica show in early Febuary its just about time to buckle down for a few more huge concerts in the next week. 6 days from now I'm seeing Napalm Death and Kreator with an additional 3 opening acts. Almost like a thrash metal festival in itself. Then the very next night I'm seeing Dark Tranquility and Opeth. Opeth are the true Gods of Metal right now and I'm honored to see them live. Thats 3 of my top 10 bands in 2 nights. Madness is about to ensue.
I expect brutal moshpits and alot of drunken fun at both shows. This is gonna be like getting on a roller coaster for 2 straight days, and I wouldnt have it any other way.

All I can expect is massive pain after the Kreator show and the fact got to go to school the next day, but at least the Opeth show should be relaxing and looking forward to Opeth performing, will be two awesome nights of metal, most excellent.

Compared with the Kreator show it will be relaxing.

Well hopefully it won't be that bad, I'm just trying to be optimistic, all I know is we need to form a plan so not to get anhilated at the show.
United front.

Just came back from the Napalm Death and Kreator concert and wow an amazing show, about 3 supporting acts that were average at best, but I came to see Kreator mostly. To see Napalm Death, legends in metal, was just a treat and they did an awesome show. When Kreator came on though, it just went by so quickly, when they were playing songs like Impossible Brutality and Voices of the Dead, it was just wow.
An amazing show and we waited outside and right as we were about to give up hope of not getting an autograph, lo and behold Mille, the mastermind and lead singer of Kreator showed himself and we got a picture and an autograph.
Great way to end the night, will upload the pic once I get a copy. Whooo

Kreator..........what can I say?
Gods of Thrash metal. The pit was massive, everyone going crazy, the band rock solid, something that has to be seen to be believed. This for all intents and purposes was the best gig I've ever been too.
This picture sums up the night perfectly...

Bring on Opeth and Dark Tranquility!

Just got back from the Opeth show, another killer night. Starting off with Dark Tranquality who were amazing, heard some of their tracks although not a lot of it compared to Opeth, they were incredible live, got to shake the lead singer's hand and one of the lead guitarists, awesome stuff.
Next was devil driver who were pretty much the only act that I was not looking forward to, we actually left after Dark Tranquality to get a drink of well anything (cause it was freakin hot) coming back near the end of their set, that's when maddness erupted. The last song, they told the crowd to form the biggest mosh pit circle they can, why they were filming for a DVD! Needless to say it was an insane mosh pit, very chaotic but still memorable.
That leaves Opeth which did not disappoint, lots of great tracks, they all were on top of their game and they were the highlight of the nite. The lead Singer Makiel was hilarious with his stand up comments he would make between songs, only about 10 songs I think, but considering that most of their songs are close to 10 mins long that's why. Got some pics from the show that one of my buddies going to send me so hopefully will show em off, to cap off this great night.

Again, if I may briefly interrupt the metal memories here, I went to see The Mighty Boosh in Nottingham on Wednesday night, and they were rather groovy - less reliant on their TV material than I'd imagined they might be (imagine seeing Little Britain live *shudders*), which was good, but perhaps a bit too much toilet humour. A rather younger audience than I was expecting, too, and plenty of people dressed up a bit, which was nice to see - fashionable androgyny rocks! There was a goth sitting in front of me with some sort of tiny wedding hat perched on top of her head and a corset so tight that it clearly must've been compressing her breasts into strange and unnatural shapes - goths always make me laugh
Sleeping on a tiny sofa in my friend's sister's too-hot living room and getting up early in order to get home and go to work was less fun, though...

Ok, finally got the pictures in from the Kreator show on March 7th. We were all soaking in sweat but stayed outside for half an hour (in minus 20 temperatures) to meet this man. Here is us with Mille, frontman and main songwriter, for German thrash legends Kreator.

Waited for 30 mins soaking and actually we were going to leave, when right then he made his appearance, glass of wine in hand, classicness, but all of us got to shake his hand too and get an autograph from the mastermind of Kreator, a bit shorter in person then how he looked on stage, but a memorable night nevertheless.

A They Might Be Giants concert in a very small high school ampitheatre. It was cool to see a band that had graced such rock clubs as the House of Blues to play out at a small town in Utah. Plus I got to sit on the stage THE ENTIRE CONCERT just a foot or two away from the lead singer. And all for $20!

Big Concert headed my way this July with the Unholy Alliance Tour featuring Slayer, Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and Thine Eyes Bleed. Gonna be huge no doubt.
