is it actually relevant that it is made out of different kinds of metal? (i.e. if it was just one metal would it still serve it's purpose?)
hints so far (grouped, and with redundant parts removed) :
not animal, edible, wearable, furniture, readable, boxlike or protective.
however it is touchable.
is made entirely out of different kinds of metal.
cannot be found in: bathroom or kitchen
can arguably be found in the living room (and generally a house)
Not: a tray, a brass ashtray, a letter opener, a ruler, a cup, a figment of imagination or a small metal ornament.
Fits in the palm of your hand
does not have a handle.
Used by putting other things on it.
doe not need to be picked up or turned on for use.
It isn't used to change anything else.
Made of several nonidentical pieces
might have a distinctive shape (on not...)
