Made easier since it's one of my favourites, and I mentioned it in another thread t'other day :(

About as far from Videodrome as you can get, in this movie our hero seeks to earn a promotion and thwart an evil plot by undertaking a perilous journey. Along the way, he's helped by an unexpected extremely famous guest star.

Much further from Videodrome than that. And it's an unexpectedly famous guest star - if he'd turned up in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson would be sleeping on his cousin's sofa right now :(

More hints needed? Perchance nobody's seen it (you're missing out, it's pretty good).

Ok, the famous guest star is big in Germany, and our hero wears an item of unusually-shaped clothing.

Thought that might give it away - it was indeed the Spongebob Squarepants Movie. The guest star's the Hoff, incidentally.

Choomloofah hasn't been around for a while, so I claim his turn.   :(

In this film, Dan McCormick survives a bus crash that killed the 5 other passengers by electrocution.  Dan survived, cos he is immune to electricity.

This film was released under 2 different titles, so I will accept either title.   :(

with that many hints this movie is just too easy to goggle (I tried). However I want people to try to guess this one "properly". If noone does I will name it tomorrow.
