This 'doctor' sees a teenager with heart problems, and he becomes obsessed with saving her.  At any cost!

I have no idea, but I begin to see a likeable loony plot here: He kills the townspeople, cut our their hearts and shove them into this girl's chest, like a Jack the Ripper meets Frankenstein.
