I think it's philisopher's, those guys (philospoher= alchemist himslef in this case) usualy worked alone.

Yay.
After having a bit of a bad day, a man decides he is now just about as miserable as humanly possible. He meets a stranger, who tells him to stop whining, shows him what *real* misery is like and then leaves him. The man is immensely cheered up by this encounter, and spends the rest of the film cheering everybody else up, until finally all characters in the film (except one) are sickeningly happy.
