Considering that there was 164 posts in that thread when it was closed I don't think it is unfair to say that the amount of flames there was virtually nil.  However, as it seems that reading a thread that has more than 5 posts is quite a frustrating experience, I do think it is fair to say that a discussion thread of any length where the people disagree on one or more things related to the topic at hand is automatically deemed a flame war just to get it over with, no matter how unflamewarlike the topic really was, and is doomed to closure as soon as a bored Admin gets tired of reading.

tai i think you were VERY fair in general please dont get me wrong.

i just think triton is being treated a little unfair... like i said IMHO he was the calmest of all...including myself... even though he was "gang-raped"

just for the record (again ) i think the admins do a VERY VERY good job on both abandonia and reloaded. better than anywhere i have seen to tell the truth

triton i think they classify "flame-war" as a non discussion... or a discussion where both sides just try to get there point across without really discussing things.... i think thats why it was closed down... it was just us against you no discussion without any hope of one seeing a single (major) point of the opposition as correct

I read the whole thing, and furthermore, I had someone else read it over in addition to help me determine who was most responsible for it getting to the point it did (for both threads).

But you're right, I do get fairly bored of "Americans suck," "No, Europeans suck." You're also right in that it was not all bad, and there were some interesting points. However, any flame is still a flame, be it one or one hundred, and it was progressively getting worse.

Also, I didn't close the thread, and wasn't going to close it. Actually, it was closed by a moderator, not an admin. But since it's been closed, I have no problem leaving it that way.

I still don't understand where all these flames are.  Quite frankly, I can infer from your judgement that you don't know a flame from an ice cube.

This thread itself is doomed to be condemned as a "flame war" itself, and I'm afraid that I will most likely receive a warn and/or banishment if I don't desist.  Incidentally, I'm sure the Admins do not warn or ban themselves, even if they, too, participated in the flame war.  I am under the impression that Administration here is out to get us with a show of power.

I have decided to deny that glory to Taikara or any other admin or moderator here, and I will stop posting in this board and call for others to follow suit, lest they get banned by an overbearing Admin who was tired of reading arguments and counter-arguments, whether or not they contain many, some, or no flames.

Actually, Braindead has a warn of 20%, while I myself have 80%.

Stroggy, Beef and Titan have also recieved warns in the past.

Sorry, Fawful, but that doesn't make sense: why would they give each other warns to "prove their points" if we can't see their warn levels anyway?

was some evil moderator (I won't point fingers, but I have a concrete person in mind) messing around with other peoples posts? again?   (allthough last time he had the honesty to leave an 'edited by line', so maybe not...)

Is it possible by the way (theorethicaly of course, since I know no one else would do such thing, and I used to think it's bellow even of the mod in question).
