Uhm yeah so I noticed that a good movie topic was missing from the lot. And if there actually IS one and I missed it, well feel free to insult the nearest person pretending he/she is me.

I wouldn't start another "Ya Fav Movie" thread, just talk from time to time about a specific movie and express everyone's opinion on that one.

My first movie of choice would be A Clockwork Orange. I saw it the first time and got asleeep, due to the fact that I was severely drunk. The second time I saw it (sober) it totally impressed me, that kind of feeling you get when you realize you're witnessing some genious. I personally liked very much the acting of Malcolm MacDowell and the use of classical harmonies during extremely violent scenes.

I've never seen that movie, so I can't comment on it.

However, I just recently saw a brilliant Danish film by the name of Adams Ębler. For those who understand Danish, this is a film they should buy/rent NOW! ;) :)

Is it new? did you rent it or see in a theatre?

EDIT: Gah, just saw the "Buy/rent NOW!" part of your post  ;)
but weird, I haven't heard anything about it.. I'll check if I can find it somewhere!

Not as messed up as "Weissenegger" would be I suppose...

I love A Clockwork Orange - the Steeler's Wheel/ear removal scene from Pulp Fiction is a huge ripoff of the rape scene at the start of ACO. The brainwashing bits when they're "treating" him are simply amazing. It has to be Kubrik's finest hour.

One of my all-time favourites is Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The old version, I mean, not that lousy remake. It's so bad, it's hilarious.

If we're talking so bad it's hilarious, I'd like to nominate Videodrome - Debbie Harry's (of Blondie fame) "acting" debut, alongside James Woods in a David Cronenburg film. In fact, The Fly almost fits the same category :)

Oh God, yes. Thanks for reminding me, Beef. :)
They're very interesting if you look at how they are made, though.

Alien vs Predator was pretty nice...
A Clockwork Orange is also on the top..

but.. Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy... Oh my God..
It's clearly THE best movie i've seen up to now..
I REALY hope they make movies of the rest of the books. Go see NOW!

That one has bits from all of the books, mainly the bits that would translate to film best, so it seems pretty unlikely there'll be any more made, but I may be wrong.

HHGTTG's not out yet here, and won't be until August the 17th, so won't be able to see it yet. No movie can match up to La Cité Des Enfants Perdus, though, not even A Clockwork Orange, how genious it may be. One thing A Clockwork Orange does that La Cité Des Enfants Perdus doesn't, is give you an enormous urge to eat spaghetti, halfway through the movie.

I'm gonig to be the annoying smart-arse who points out that Hitchhiker's was a radio show before it was a book and is best in that format.

I'm also going to cast another vote for A Clockwork Orange and I'm going to nominate Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Layer Cake (as they're a sort of trilogy).  Oh, and Hero and most other films starring Jet Li (or Bruce Lee for that matter) also pwn.

Maybe Pirates of the Caribbean or the Pink Panther series. I'm not sure which.  :)

Well, another vote for A Clockwork Orange. Just recently watched it; and loved it. The reason why I love R Havell's Avvie and Abandonia sig :)

Personally I also love Monty Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail (Or was that Monty Python and the Holy Grail?). Sir Robbin's little song still makes me laugh ;)

Wonderfull sig and avvie by Taikara :D
