I may be the only one playing this game, but that won't stop me being pleased about finding a Bronze Dragon Scale Mail from a Deep One (quest guardian, although not the last one - he dropped a naff armour of resist cold) on level 22
It's (-2) [30, +15] plus confusion resistance (though I already had that as a beastman) and breathe confusion every 450+d450 turns. I may have inadvertently lost the Elven Cloak from the Orc Camp quest, but I reckon that armour, a Short Bow of Velocity and the artifacts Metal Cap of Thengel (+Wis, Cha), Iathrond (shield) (+12, +13) [6, +17] (Improves searching, immune fear, resist poison and dark), the Phial of Galadriel and Barrukheled (axe) (2d6) (+13, +19) (+3 Con) (Deadly against orcs, trolls, giants and evil, see invisible) pretty well make up for it

Right, a tip - the Mimics' Treasure quest is definitely NOT equivalent to dlvl 25. Bloomin' mimics just tore apart my most promising character ever
To add insult to injury, she only got 10000 points for that, which doesn't make much sense...

The everglowing light of Edison's the reward for the Dark Elven Lords quest, not Old Man Willow - his is fairly naff apart from the experience and his own drops. Also, saving and reloading? What kind of Roguelike would that be?

Ok I started to play the game and died 2 times. The first time was when I was just testing the game for the first time and was getting to know the game. Picked out a mage elf something and started paying. I died in the near dungeon over-powered by like 20 slime things (looked like some white tentecal thingy) and died. Second time I played a halftroll warrior and killed alot of things. I thought I would reach far with this one but when I went again in the dungeon (still in level one) I saw a floating eye (I think it is called that) and said to myself "why not". I charged at it and was stunded or something and couldn't move and was slowly killed by the "eye". Now I'm playing as a vampire monk, and am now at level 3 and not having any problems

Vampires are well hard - just don't go above ground during daylight (until you get Light and Dark Resistance - there's a quest reward for it that's guaranteed) and remember to use their power to feed. You can check the time of day by pressing Ctrl-T IIRC.
Breeding monsters like worms can get out of hand if you don't have a way to get rid of groups of them - either kill them when there's only one or leave them and run away. You can make sure you only have to fight one at a time by backing into a corridor. Floating eyes you definitely want to get at a distance if possible, but you were pretty unlucky to get paralysed by it TBH - they're not very effective.
