I daresay we have been dawdling. So how about that Galloway, eh? The gall that man has!

Thing that makes this thread so obnoxious, is that it went away from its purpose right from the start. Another thing's that its purpose's only clear to British people, which's no good on an international forum like this one. Instead of bashing comments 'bout it, you guys'd do better to explain things a bit, so non-British would be able to understand what this is about, instead of it either being or seeming like pointless, incoherent babbling.

Read the first post more carefully then.

It is meant seriously, but I meant the first post of this thread.

Nothing, but all this fake English accent crap is. It's obnoxious and completely off-topic. This thread was meant to discuss British things, like the Crazy Frog nuiscance or the new passports they're trying to pull through, not to talk like a moron.

Well, old chap, you might say that a British accent is sort of a British thing...
Anyway, I don't think we need to take this whole business quite so seriously. It was meant as a bit of a joke, you know. In the good English tradition of setting up enclaves of Englishness everywhere.

The club is really spreading it seems.
So what's up with Wales? I understand that the rest of the English people like to make fun of it.

Furthermore, it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed.

As far as I can tell, historically, that hasn't worked out too well for you guys
Edit: (sort of like American imperialism in the guise of global moralism isn't really working out too well for us, either)

Ehmm... it worked pretty well up until all of you colonies started breaking off from the motherland.
Not that we're bitter, mind.
Yeah, Welsh people are just genuinely offensive. My great uncle lives there and the locals are a right bunch of bastards.
Galloway is a hero, I cannot believe how much the US government is trying to slander him. Ach, such is politics really...
ID cards are a bit of a contentious issue. I'm sort of divided on them. I'm disgusted that we're having no say on them and also that they blatently won't resolve the 'issue' of immigration (something I personally quite like). There is also a high cost.
On the other hand, it would be handy instead of photocopying about 10 hard-to-find bits of paperwork when I want a job.

That is the risk of imperialism, after all. Spreading yourself too thin can lead to structural weakness in the system, which tends to lead to fracture in the form of revolution.

OTOH we did rip off a whole series of countries and strip them of their mineral wealth.
And I cannot believe that a country like the USA which prides itself on 'freedom' is trying to supress and install puppet governments in every oil-producing country of the world.
It's just so obvious...
And trying to call it a series of morals is like calling the crusades 'religiously acceptable'.

Hey, I don't condone it, in fact, it makes me rather nauseous to be an American sometimes, when I think of how my government pulls off these sort of stunts.
And I have been tossing around the idea of expatriating, hehe.
