@Ryan J. Bury- No problem.
Thank you for the awesome game.
@Potatoe- Actually I would.
Besides did not factor into the score or anything the negative point.

The negative point I think is unnessecary. Would you put that as a negative point for metal slug?

I've actually just started a discussion on a possible update to Afterlife in this thread at the RjB Software forums, and one of several suggestions I've mooted is to add a lifebar, which would of course address the frustrations some players have with the one-hit-death thing... All suggestions and/or opinions from anyone who's played the game are welcome

Just to bring it to attention here, Afterlife version 1.7.1 has now been released, and includes a lot of big changes and improvements from version 1.6.1 (the version reviewed here)
A full list of changes can be seen at the game's version history page, but most significantly perhaps, is that as mentioned above, the balloon is no longer destroyed by a single hit!
Also, Cruciforms now appear in all four difficulty settings of an Act, only 7 Acts need to be completed in order to unlock new Zones, balloons are now selectable from the level selection screen, the DHU handling has been completely rewritten to allow some new tricks, and a variety of graphical improvements have been made
The new version is available (as always!) from here. Have fun!

Coolies.
Will have to try it out when I manage to get some free time from work.

Hello everyone!
I am very pleased to announce the release of Afterlife: Rickard's Quest; a massively updated, revamped and improved edition of our game Afterlife (kindly reviewed here last year by DeathDude!)
This major overhaul makes huge improvements to both the gameplay and the structure of the game, as well as adding exciting new goodies such as new playable balloons, enemies, and abilities, and can be considered the "ultimate" edition, as it were, of the game; a massive revision which represents the game that I would have liked to have made four years ago, when I released the very first version of Afterlife, had I possessed the experience and abilities to do so.
As some of you may already be aware, a sequel to the game is currently in testing, and this new edition is intended to make sure that the original game is simply as good as it possibly can be before the release of the sequel. To this end, I've put a lot of work into making sure that the game is as balanced and accessible as possible, so whether you've already played and enjoyed the previous version of the game, or whether you tried it and didn't get on with it before, please do give this edition another play and see what you think...
More detail and further news can be found at RjB Software's homepage and forums.
Anyway, all the best to everyone, hope you're all having a great holiday season, and above all, have fun!
Best regards,
Ryan J. Bury

I updated the game's review page, and announced it on the main page as well.

Hey wow, thank you, Frodo!

(...Oh, and one small note: the "One hit kills you" negative point mentioned in the review isn't entirely accurate any more, just to point that out.
