Yeah pretty much that I imagine, I used to do a bunch for English in High School, about different topics, wasn't a fan of them at first but since did them so much got better with each one and now I enjoy them, but alas not as much at the college/uni level which is a shame.

At the moment just getting my things ready before I start next tuesday, got to still get my binders in order, backpack and such, got all my books (Cost me 325 bleh, and still have two more to buy so could be close to 400 double bleh) So just trying to keep relaxed and such enjoy last few days of freedom before it's back to school once again.

And welcome to the forum Wood.  :P

Welcome to the forum, wood, I hope you enjoy your stay here :P

Oh and I've just been inducted, and have somehow also been conned into doing GCSE Spanish. Not that I don't like Spanish, it's just a lot of subjects I'm doing now.

But how can you be taking GCSE Spanish now when you already got the results of your GCSEs?:P Or did you mean A-level?

Nope, I meant GCSE.

They say that it's a fairly handy thing to do, and that although the GCSE doesn't really matter after A-Levels (even they admitted this), it's still a handy langauge to learn etc.

So I'm taking it and I hope I do OK in it (I should do, Spanish isn't too hard).

Ah, right. I didn't know you could still take additional GCSEs after you'd already done some. Well, it's definitely going to come in handy if you're thinking about doing modern languages later.:P

Yeah languages are always good to take, here they are starting to implement that all students in junior high have to take a language and soon it will be a degree requirement for graduating high school, good choice with Spanish, you'll be able to use it for quite a bit of places, central/south america and more.  :P

Heh, I'm not too shabby at my general knowledge, I know that Spanish is the second-most spoken langauge in the world, with Africa, South America, Spain and most of North America (barring Canada) speaking it :P

Actually depending on where you go in Canada there are some cities with a big spanish following and bunch of communities too. :P Not as huge as say down in the states, but we still have some areas that have that following that could at one day become really big.

I didn't.:P Actually I might have done it as a sort of extra course at school, but I returned from Ireland* too late, so they had already started and I couldn't join the course anymore.

*I went to school in Galway for a few months, on some sort of exchange programme, and I hated it. My host family was horrible and school was a pain. Everyone assumed that just because English wasn't my first language I had to be stupid, so they put me in a "special needs" class - except that I don't think that particular euphemism already existed back then... :P
