Rethink how you're completing the room.
You have to kill those roaches before the snake kills itself.

The DROD Forum Hints & Solutions Board should be working correctly now.
http://forum.caravel...d.php?BoardID=1
Click on Search/New Topic near the top right of the page, and you can choose the dungeon, level, and room you are having trouble with. Since all of you are using Architect's Edition, you will want to select King Dugan's Dungeon (not 2.0!) in order to find the rooms you are currently working on. Almost every room in this original dungeon has had questions asked about it, and hints/answers given, so it very useful!
Of course we understand wanting to stay with a community that you are comfortable with, but our Hints & Solutions board is really quite nifty and an excellent resource.
Game on,
The Oneiromancer

No you don't, that room is tricky.
What exactly is the problem? I have an idea, but I don't want to offer the wrong advice if I'm not correct.
Edit:
Thanks for letting us know, Oneiromancer, and thanks for visiting
Edit2: Oh, I almost forgot, I made it to level 14 !!! wheeeeee!

1. I need to kill the right roach before the snake commits suicide.
2. I need to kill all of the other roaches first.
3. In order to do that, I need to trap the breeding roach among normal roaches.

That solution doesn't tell you the whole story, is part of the problem.
You also need to:

Minimize the amount of normal roaches necessary to trap the breeding roach by finding the right position. Just minimizing your turn usage isn't enough if it takes too long for enough roaches to breed.

I've tried that too, but they keep moving and freeing it again.
Edit: Never mind, I managed to complete the room, although I honestly don't know what the difference was. I even had plenty of moves left over at the end.

Is that the first room like it you've tried (with the muck with eyes)? I would highly suggest clearing out a few other rooms and coming back to that one - it's not really a difficult room in comparison, but it's more "daunting" if you're not familiar with how the muck works yet. It's much easier if you get some practice and come back to it later.
Beyond that, here's a hint:

Look for a place you can get at the eyes, but first clear out the globbies in the way of your path there before going for it.

*removed as it was the same as Tai's*
And also because she was the one who gave me that hint when I was struggling there in the first place. This is her glory, not mine
Edit:
This room is currently making me insane. I have a plan of what to do, but the problem is this:
Notice how there are no save points on that level?
I have to spend close to 1500 moves in order to get to the point I was at last, in order to try out a new tactic. And as this is trial and error, mostly... the new plan fails - and I have to start doing the 1500 moves again... and again... and again...
In case anyone wonders - my current plan is:
(No idea if it is a spoiler or not, but to be on the safe side...)

to try to walk through the room, and attack it from the East Entrance, where it would be easier to accomplish.
