A certain finnish politician, too.. He was supposed to run for president on the last election, but then he didn't.

Same in Finnish said:

Tietty suomalainen poliitikko, myös... Hänen oletettiin pyrkivän presidentiksi viime vaaleissa, mutta hän ei pyrkinytkään.
Not exact translation, but that's pretty much how one would say. Of course it's not the only way...

I'd say "Eräs suomalainen poliitikko", just to avoid confusion.. Although, it might be that my "certain" is the wrong word for it, too.
What is it about a beautiful sunny afternoon, with the birds singing and the wind rustling through the leaves, that makes you want to get drunk?

It can be "eräs" too. It depends more on how you want to say it.

Fine, you asked for it, AJ! :P

"The saints are crippled
On this sinners? night
Lost are the lambs with no guiding light

The walls come down like thunder
The rocks about to roll
It?s the Arockalypse
Now bare your soul

All we need is lightning
With power and might
Striking down the prophets of false
As the moon is rising
Give us the sign
Now let us rise up in awe

Rock ?n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
Demons and angels all in one have arrived
Rock ?n roll angels bring thyn hard rock hallelujah
In God?s creation supernatural high"
:P
Translate that! :P  :P

I'd love to learn a whole bunch of new languages (including Icelandic, Finnish, Russian, Hungarian, Armenian and Ancient Greek, in no particular order), but I highly doubt I'll ever have time for that, which is a bit of a shame.:P
I was aware of your interest of Finnish, but I can't recall ever hearing the motive. After all, there's only something like 7-8 million people speaking Finnish and it belongs to quite small Fenno-Ugrian language group, as does Hungarian, Estonian and couple of other very small languages also. Same goes with Icelandic: belongs to relatively small sub-group of Germanic languages and it has even less people speaking it. Norwegian, Swedish or Danish would be much more understandable. So... why? And how many speak Armenian?

Uhm, I think I'll give those Lordi-lyrics a pass and skip straight to Potatoe's translation, which doesn't really seem to make much sense either. It appears to be something along the lines of "I speak Finnish well, I'm off to get pizza. Jep Jep..<.<"

How would I know?:P As you can easily tell by looking at my translations, I don't actually speak the language.

Anyway...

Okay, I decided to take two local newspapers (yesterday's Iltalehti (IL) and Ilta-Sanomat (IS), yesterday's papers in hope that I'm less violating any copyright laws) and take writings from there for AJ to translate. So here we go:

IL page 2 said:

Yleisradio toivoo riittävät resurssit omaavien tilojen omistajien ilmoittautuvan

IL page 5 said:

Poliittinen realismi ottaa minua niin paljon päähän, että löysin itseni liikuttumasta omista puheistani. Enkä ole edes Paavo Väyrynen

IL page 11 said:

Linna = Presidentinlinna

IL Lordi Special page 9 said:

"Tämä on parempi kuin jääkiekon MM-kulta!" "Helvetin piti jäätyä ennen kuin Suomi voittaa."

IS Lordi Extra page 14 said:

Rovaniemen päättäjät ilmoittivat eilen palkitsevansa kaupungista kotoisin olevan Mr. Lordin eli Tomi Putaansuun omalla nimikkoaukiolla. Lisääksi Putaansuu saa kaupungilta lahjaksi tontin.

IS page 24 said:

Janne Ahonen joutuu elämään mäessä tuulten ja kiihdytysajoissa sateen oikkujen mukaan.
Okay, there are couple of difficult ones, but you've proven your linguistic geniousity, so we're waiting... And sorry, I just had to take few examples about Lordi, because both newspapers were full of them! And sorry IL and IS, if I in any way violated copyright laws and you have something against it. I'll edit them away immediately, if you wish so!

Violating copyright? Why?:ok: You're quoting short extracts from newspapers which as far as I can tell are both published online as well. I you want to make absolutely sure, you might include the links, but I doubt that's necessary, really...

Yeah. Finnish copyright laws are a bit bogus. :D
