dont want to get this all heated up again but:

some muslim here got a christian woman pregnant... he ended up kicking her in the stomach a couple times and caused a miscarriage. he got 3 years because of his religion   (because of the whole he cant marry or have a child with a christian deal)

this is in no way supposed to be muslim bashing (id even reckon that we white western christians do crap like this more often). i just wanted to show what people get away with in the name of thier (foriegn) religion. of course in germany the justice system is completly screwed anyways

That's nonsense. Why wouldn't he be allowed to marry or have a child with a Christian? He must have had a convincing lawyer, then.

But law and justice are often two different things anyway, and if that example illustrates anything, it's that. I doubt it makes a point about religion, though; other people get off more lightly because of a weird medical condition, like that sleepwalking rapist a few months ago.

First: It is in NO WAY nonsense... you wouldnt believe how many turks i know who are scared to be seen with a blond girl... believe me... its IS very commen... (and its alot worse for the women)

And i already said its not about the religion... i said its about how we let people get off BECAUSE of religion.

i wish you wouldnt keep acting like i dont know a thing im talking about. you dont know everything better then i do

Oh, for God's sake, stop being so touchy, Daka. I wasn't claiming to know better, and I wasn't implying that you were talking nonsense, but that whoever claimed this rule for the defence of that person was. It's not religion which causes that but families who don't like their children to intermarry, and the family's opinion tends to carry more weight in some cultures than in others, regardless of religion. It's hardly a law that can be quoted in someone's defence, though.

the rest doesnt matter. if the court thinks its because of the religion (and it does happen more in muslim familys then in christian ones) then it still goes to show that people are getting off because of a belief.

im also not the only touchy one here at least when it comes to this thread. so hush
