PacPC (and Ms. PacPC) are freeware versions of *you guessed it* the arcade classics Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man.

They're DOS games (they were made back in 1995!), but even today, many Pac-Man fans consider these games to be the greatest Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man clones ever made! They were both built and coded by a guy called JROK, and like he says on his site: "These games are NOT emulations using the original game code, they were coded and debugged from the ground up."

You can get both games from his website: www.jrok.com . However, I made an archive containing the games bundled with DOSBox*, preconfigured and set to run in original arcade resolution. You can download it here.

I'd really love to see these two games on this site. Like I said, many people consider PacPC and Ms. PacPC the best Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man clones of all time, and I feel they need more recognition and respect.

*The DOSBox in the archive is not the latest version, but rather v0.73. The reason I did this is because the aforementioned "original arcade resolution" won't display properly in later versions.

Hey Spidol.

Thanks for the info on these games.  We can't use your archive, as Jrok specifically states on his site:

Quote

For free distribution the archives of these games MUST NOT be modified in ANY way.

As for the original archives, I'm not sure if we could feature them, either.  Jrok also states on his site:

Quote

These games can only be distributed for NON-PROFIT purposes. This specifically excludes any and ALL embedded advertising, banners, linking or any other activity which results in commercial gain.

With all the adverts and banners Abovo has placed on site, we can't really be considered as 'non-profit' any more.  However, I will contact Jrok, and see what he has to say.
