Best thing to do (if possible) is to open the doors from the side. This way if a stone block fall down you are sure to avoid it.

i was once stuck in some webs... and while trying to rip free i got a message that was something like: "suddenly a lot of little spiders emerge from the web and attack you"
I get that a lot. I find this very good, and the poison is not potent if you have any kind of poison resistance. :ot:

I killed this goblin...he really loves spears!

He probably sprung a spear trap several times and picked them up. Then he decided to use them against you. :)

(I've never understood spear-throwers, really. You toss the only weapon you have against an armoured enemy. If you miss, you are dead. If you hit, but don't kill him, you are dead. The only effect wounding him will have, is that he now *really* wants to kill you. Oh well...)
Well, there are certain weapons in the game that count as spears and that DO return. And they do quite a lot of damage, too...

@Daka: I've seen the message a few times. I think there's a small chance that you'll get poisoned by walking into a web. If you're poison resistant it doesn't do much, though. Dark elves get a different message, but if they don't have poison resistance yet, they can also get poisoned.

My most stupid death was breaking my neck by falling down the stairs while strained and dying just after a random artifact had been generated on that level: "You fall down the stairs! You feel a surge of power! You die..."

It says something about your little friends, but you can still get poisoned. It looks like it that even though you wouldn't, at least as an Dark Elf you can get poison resistance still. This is only my belief, though.

They don't poison you badly, so if you got decent HP's, go through.

I do that whenever possible.  When the door is at the end of a hallway, though, there's not much that can be done.
Today is a good day for pie.

Another good trick which sometimes elude new players; poison can be healed up with first aid everytime you get a HP hit. This up your longevity by a lot of you don't have a lot of HP and your first aid skill is decent. :ot:

Meaning, if you kill a "female goblin", you'll need to kill 50 "female golin" instead of regular goblins.

Ah, right. No, only if it has a separate entry in the monster memory. So female goblins are just goblins. The same goes for undead: a female goblin rockthrower zombie would count as a zombie.

Are you sure the Queen plays ADOM and is a registered member at these forums, Daka?:ot: Somehow I doubt it...
Anyway, I always thought all stat drains in ADOM were permanent. I may be wrong about that, though, as I rarely do the druid quest because of all those hostile cats down there.

Not all the drain stats are permanent in ADOM, I would even be inclined to say that most are not. Tough you can wait a really long time to see them wear off and that, at that point, you would either not see it because you'll be dead before that or you won't link the stat gain to the stat loss you suffered.
