Well, that's why I told you to try and kill it from a distance if possible.
@Daka: Not really, unless you're very weak and are easily pummeled by a chaos rat. But obviously there are much more dangerous monsters with corrupting attacks to look out for.

I did try to lob some rocks at him, but they didn't hurt him

I haven't gotten a lot of arrows (I have 3 arrows), so I haven't started with bows, yet. But I have been practising my throwing skill a lot.

I've been using the black torc I got from killing Keethax as a missle weapon (the benefits it gives are nice but it gives bad luck).  It's cool becuase it comes back to you after you throw it, and there's a high chance of you catching it and being able to throw it again.  The big disadvantage of this is that it doesn't automatically equip as a missle weapon so I need to go inventory diving a lot and it doesn't train any weapon skills.

EDIT: Incidentally, how do you read the .flg files that are made when you ask for a memorial file of a character to be created?  I just lost a good one and I migt want to see it again.

I think they're often too big for notepad, actually. But wordpad always works for me.

I got a very nice char right now, easily the best one I ever played so far. She's an High Elven Priest and I leveled her to level 13. Not the highest level I ever attained, but I'm working on that.

She also have a very big spellbook, 20 spells she learned since she entered the Drakalor Chain. I have a lot of usefull spells, but I don't have teleport yet. That one would be the icing on the cake.

I noticed that Tom posted an image on this thread... I thought I could do the same, but oh well...

There is a guaranteed blessed spellbook of Teleport as a reward for saving a certain individual, you know...

i found a Tome of Alsophocus in a book shop... what does it do? the GB doesnt say

edit: heheh... Monsieur Gugrunk the Trollish Healer saved the puppy for the little girl
got N- now I can get courage (although i forgot to write down the first kill   )

It's an artifact that gives you a random spell when you read it. But reading it also corrupts, as does carrying it about (not sure about Moonsickle, but this one definitely does).

Now level 13 and made right risky decision: I ate fomorian giant -> strength +1!!! Now it's 18 and it has grown very slowly lately...

Hehehe... I got corrupted

Now I have +2 Strength and +4 DV.... Nicely bringing my Strength up to 44


But, no matter what I do, I can't seem to be crowned as Chaotic... I've offered at every black altar I could find, eaten Wight corpses as if there is no tomorrow, slaughtered kids, destroyed the entire living forrest, dug up graves, offered both huge rocks, rocks, weapons, artifacts and live monsters... And Vagrak is still only "very pleased" with me

I've never had a crowned character... *sniff*

Believe me, Tom, it took ages to get it "very close to -deity-". And I've never been crowned either and it seems I never will.

Edit: Whee! Animated trees = easy exp! Burn baby burn!

Just keep on sacrificing. It takes bloody ages, but eventually you will be at "absolutely close".
