Wait until you get the papyrus invitation (level 13 it appears near you, you are alerted).

EDIT: And it's worth waiting to complete the arena until the dwarf elder tells you to, that way you get the gladius and a a pile of other (and argueably better) stuff.

Good stats!  Of course, Sod's law states that you'll end up drowning/setting off a trap/getting poisoned/sick before you reach level 4.

My, what an ugly character!

Trolls have an XP limit for the pyramid. I forget what it is exactly, but it's in the guidebook. If you go to the pyramid as soon as you hit level 14, you should be OK, though.

Well, in that case you just tried to enter the pyramid too soon. You can go there as soon as you "feel ancient magical energies manifest" (or something like that) and the papyrus scroll is generated.

How on earth can I get C- alignment??? I've attacked every neutral creature whom I've encountered and still only plain C! I guess it takes a huge load of sacrifices to get "absolutely close"?

Edit: And a question: I was trying to sacrifice living white worm, when I got response: *THOU SHALT TAKE PAINS TO PROVE THY DEVOTION!* Meaning what?

Peaceful monsters don't usually count for much. What you need is murder: You could try luring dwarves out of Terinyo or Dwarftown to kill them; it's a bit easier in Dwarftown, as you won't have to swap places with your intended victim.
If you don't want to turn murderer, you could ask Thrundaar about "portal", answer "yes" to his question and go to the dwarven graveyard. There you can lower your alignment by eating undead corpses. No zombie or ghul corpses, as they only make you sick, but wight, wraith, vampire and spectre corpses draw your alignment towards chaotic and have the additional advantage of increasing toughness. If you're still not C- after all the undead on the surface level, you could start digging up graves. The ones with the "great treasures" line may or may not contain good items, but they always contain liches. I'd suggest that you do those at a later point and only dig a few normal graves for now. It should easily get your alignment to C-.

Meaning that white worms are breeders and the worm you tried to sacrifice was not the original worm. You can't sacrifice breeders or summoners because that would make the game far too easy, obviously. So rats summoned by a wererat can't be sacrificed either. You can sacrifice the summoner (i.e. the wererat in this case), however.

So I've been working in vain... Well, thanks for the info. And now I'm facing terrible problem: I lost my elven chain mail [+0, +6] and have absolutely no armor... hopefully - as I'm still treasure hunter - I'm going to find new!

the reason i ask is because yes... im a birthmonth scummer... but sorry.. if i want to play a wizard i want to play a wizard and im not going to wait untill 15 chars die untill i get the month i need to be one

In a sense I agree with Daka. Sometimes, and I really mean sometimes, I do that same. I just love to be born at the month of Candle. But now my current character is born at the month of Falcon. Good one too, one extra talent. Without that, she'd never had gotten three talents and treasure hunter to begin with. Anyways, I got my alignment to C- by killing that healer and sheriff, as requested by that crime lord. Now all I have to do is sacrifice, sacrifice and sacrifice, I guess.

she could have got it... if the total of your stats is dividable by 7 you get an extra talent... and if your mana is at a minimum of... 15... or 16 i think you get one also

One for my birth month.
One for my mana is 18 or more.
If I've had stats divideable by 7, then I would had 4th.

Edit: How far away am I from that "absolutely close"? I'm again getting these, and have been getting for some time, "You burn with the anticipation of power." messages.
