The windows beta is finished as far as I know, that beta part is probably just a precaution because T.B. haven't had time to debug it enough. I use the linux binaries though (through sage in windows), they're up to date.

Yes, apart from a few well-known bugs it works fine. And the graphics look better in the Windows version.

Excuse me, but there is nothing which can beat DOS font. :tai:

I actually play ADOM in DOSBox for 2 reasons; the DOS font and the fact ADOM play on the speed it been intended to if you don't raise the cycles too much.

It makes the characters look fat, though.:tai: Besides, the colours are ugly. The tiny girl looks like a farmer.

Just thought I'd mention that I am currently happily playing a crowned level 15 gray elf druid. Altars are nice.

Of course, now that I've completed all the available newbie quests, I'm at a bit of a loss for what to do.

For me I seem to have the really bad luck of getting my character to level 6, then ending up starving, getting poisoned in battle or some other anomily, which really is getting to be quite "fun." :tai:

Time to go to the Caverns of Chaos.:tai: Or the pyramid, if you haven't done that yet. It might still be open...
My first win was a grey elven druid, by the way. Very nice combination.

I'm currently playing yet another random character, George the gnomish healer (whenever I run out of character names for ADOM, I resort to John, Paul, George and Ringo ). George is now level 14, still uncrowned and on his way to Dwarftown. And he's murdered at least a dozen of cats, so I doubt he'll survive the cat lord, provided I actually get that far...

Edit: Gah! Died because I wanted to go back to Dwarftown through the dwarven halls and ran into a tension room of air demons. Oh well.

you have to lure him out of the town :tai:

when your close to him he seems to walk more towards you than not... when hes next to you and your on the edge of town just leave... then enter the next forest square and kill him

edit: depending on class you might want to wait till like level 10

Looks like everybody else is better than me... :bleh: May be too simple question, but I just have to ask: How do you get crowned?

For some reason I just don't end up with names, if I want to. But usually I use few of my favorites.

I seem to stick with these names usually Bruce, Adrian, Murray, Steve, Janick, Nicko, from a certain band. :bleh:
