Actually, if you're feeling brave, you could just back into the corridor, get rid of the ghost bats as quickly as possible, switch tactics to berserk (your PV won't help you against claw bugs anyway) and try killing off the bugs.

if you think the character is doing well I would advise against it... one of them can be a problem. If you dont mind losing the char go for it... if it works out then yay!

Found a way to play ADOM in fullscreen without running the CPU heavy DOS-alternative. ADOM Sage runs it fine and can also generate larger dungeons... plus color coded messages and other nifty stuff.

you can run ADoM fine in fullscreen.. start it up... right click on the status bar... go into properties... and set it to full screen... i do it all the time and it looks just like it did back on my Win98 operating system


edit: yeah drank from a pool at the beggining and got:

Petrification resistance
Sleep resistance
Poison Resistance
The invisibility intrinsic
AND would have got the frog quest but im a male orc

only bad thing was the last... vipers... but im invisible so MWUAHAHA... (this is PC lvel 1 though and im gonna have to try to bring the puppy through here...hmmm)

ok only bad thing is of course no arena and worse need more food... Raffles is it possible to get alot of points by just going deeper and deeper in the ID?

To play pretty much anything DOS based (and many windows based things) use the keyboard shortcut alt+enter in normal ADOM.

Yes, but it gets harder quite deceptively fast.  There is also a special area around 60-70 (I think).

What status bar? The only way for me running it "full screen" is by changing the master resolution. Only option I can find in the properties section is to use a maximized window... But it won't scale the ascii characters so there's no point.

A downside with running Sage is that the dungeons are larger... on the positive side, the dungeons are larger  

Oh and I'm currently finding it hard to descend further down the CoC than lvl 12. I think I need to beef my character up a bit first. I need:
A better sword (I've got a 1d8+5 longsword now)
Better armour (elven chain mail)
More arrows!!!! (Used up all my fletchery sets)

just right click the bar at the top that says "ADoM.exe" or whatever.... believe me it works... at least if your using the same version as I am with XP

I think you've got the DOS version there, Daka. The winbeta version can't be run in fullscreen mode.
