Regarding the PV thing, I had a troll druid the other day who started the game with a PV of 9 (blessed hood helped), and Tom's character above has 9 too. My troll got slimed by a giant slug though

I've been desperately searching for PV, but nothing seems to be found... And now I've even torn apart my helmet that gave my +2 to it, so it's only 6 now.

Use shields. Double-wielding weapons may be cool, but it also makes you vulnerable. Save that for later when you've beefed up your character a bit.

As you wish, milady. First shield I found appeared to be medium adamantium shield [+7, +4] and now I'm heading to that pyramid, where i was called for, as CoC doesn't give me possibility to go further. River you see and no means to cross it without rusting my stuff...

Yep, so? Fireproof blanket most certainly don't help me in that and others I can't get identified because I happen to get absolutely hardly ever identify scrolls...

If you have any means to turn invisible then go into the Small Cave, to the north-west of Terinyo.  The monsters generated there have twice your experience level so it can get very tough, very fast.  There is a guarenteed waterproof blanket generated there, that protects items in your pack from water damage (not items that you're wearing though).

EDIT: crapola!  I just got a dark elf assassin, he was noe fo the most promising characters I've ever created.  I found a scroll called ther "IBM Manual Scroll" and I am now permanently confused.

EDIT2: Phew!  I had enough piety to say a prayer and my mind cleared.  On with the game!

EDIT3: Damn, I found a "This room seems to be filled with a deadly and chilling silence. All sounds are muffled." room, that makes critical hits/instakills far more common.  A doppelganger confused me then instakilled me.

In wilderness, east from CoC, there came horde of chaos sisters and/or brothers and they somehow managed to slaughter him... I bit overreacted and used some creative violence to my keyboard and unfortunately it exited before marking highscore... Can't blame anybody else but me...

Edit: Okay, luckily I gave it one more chance! Got that bloody puppy saved! Trolls seem to be quite hardy fellows!

id really love to play again but my last character got three pairs of seven league boots by the time he got to the arena... i really doubt ill be that lucky again and it kinda ruins going for it
