That's correct. I spend almost all my time in the ID levels 1-9 (No corruption at all), and my high stats are a direct results of Potions of attributes, although they only raise it a bit. What really raises the stats are Carrot Rooms and blessed potions of exchange :)

And there is only one place in the entire game that never run out of Carrot Rooms - the ID. See why I spend so much time there? ;)

Since my post above I have had two Carrot Rooms and two potions of Gain Attributes - which gave me a natural perception score of 71. As I could really benefit from such a high score in almost any of the other attributes, I drank a blessed potion of Exchange. This didn't do what I wanted, though. Instead of swapping my perception with something else, it  swapped my Willpower with my Toughness. Which still was pleasing, as my Toughness increased by 3 points as a result. So I drank another blessed potion of Exchange, and this time the perception score was swapped. It landed on Dexterity, bringing my Dex score up to 93 points!

(I get +22 bonuses to my dex)

I also gather up all the potions of Booze I can get my hand on and give them to Yggaz. He doesn't like to give out Potions of Attributes, though, but it happens. He loves giving out Carrot Juice, though, and Potions of Healing.

My character looks the following:
One thing I didn't like much, though, was that I got the Poisonous hands corruption, and to get rid of it (without touching a potion of cure corruption) I read a blessed scroll of Chaos Resistance - which I realized was way more effective than potions. It also removed my previous Thin and Nimble corruption :)

Revelation shows this:
You are fire resistant (enhanced through an item).
You are poison resistant (enhanced through an item).
You are cold resistant (enhanced through an item).
You are acid resistant.
You are lucky (enhanced through an item).
Fate smiles on you (enhanced through an item).
You are able to control teleportation.
You are stun resistant (enhanced through items).
You are paralyzation resistant.
You are resistant to death rays (gained through an item).
You are shock resistant (enhanced through an item).
You are able to see invisible things (gained through an item).
You are immune to shock attacks.
You are able to resist confusion attacks (gained through items).

You naturally heal one hit point every 5 turns.
You naturally regenerate one mana point every 5 turns.

And character dump:
I'm currently in the process of training my Bow and Crossbow skills up to Grand Mastery, while looking for Oils of Rust Removal. I need to coat my equipment before going to Blup's mom.

:)
I'm speechless... Perhaps I'll head straight to ID after UD and two initial quests... Or perhaps even before those two. Anyways... Why that helm? And why so many useless items?

Oh, and seems like somebody's been having fun with animated trees... ;)

I pick up all kinds of stuff to make sure that I don't miss a good item (like the current armor of speed). I throw away all the crap after a while, though. As I've cleared the path to the Casino, I don't need to sell anything for money. So I just throw it all over the place.

The only four things I need to exit the ID for, is to either sell a couple of hundred sis, give some Booze to Yggaz, offer some gold on an altar before I loose my alignment, and restock on money.

Otherwise I spend my time in the ID, although I did take a trip to the Gremlin Cave and completely cleaned it out :)
(And yeah, that was what I was trying in the Living Forrest too... maybe I should give it another attempt)

I tried it with a quite powerful priestess with fire magic... Impossible for her at least.

Well, I have fire magic, but I would like to avoid using it there. Not because it angers the trees, but because it destroys all the loot :)

Magic Missile, wand of far slaying, burning hands and so on would probably work - although my best bet would be fists and missiles, or course.

Well, I just had a computer crash while playing the game, so.....

Luckily I've learned from previous crashes to always keep a copy of my last save. It still sucks, though, as I had gotten a few more goodies, and I had also gained Hawkslayer as a companion.

But I guess it's better than loosing the entire character....

*sigh*

Now to get back my Grand Mastery of Bows... :)

Where might I find a stone golem? Thrundaar assigned it as his first quest, and I could really use the literacy potion. Could head to the ID I guess...

EDIT: Yay! Blink dog corpse!

A stone *golem*? Ugh, you don't run across those very often. :P I always hang out in the big room if it's something like a dark orc or something fairly low-level, and usually go to the tomb of high kings if it's rarer, like a chaos eye or annihilator. If you have a pick (and some spare scrolls of repair), you could try digging through walls to find one. You can find stone giants fairly easily that way, but I'm not quite sure about stone golems.

I would say that your best bet to get literacy is to go to the ID and hunt for Dark Sages (while hoping for a Stone Golem to cross your path).

You don't need literacy to have the Glod repair stuff, though. :P

I just downloaded this game a weeks ago and have only scratched the surface, but this game looks great. I do like Nethack a little more, though.
I have been informed that today is, in fact, opposite day, and what you've written there is absolutely true so you should probably just go.
Rabbleous rabblerousers. Christ on a bike. Quite naturally people took you for a lunatic. Your only salvation now is complete rest.

I'm currently trying my luck in the Minotaur Maze (as I will need to complete that before I reach level 31). So far, so good.
