Ouch. I'm sorry, Juni :)

I have a question, though. Did you try to teleport away?

He probably did but ran out of spellpoints because he didn't have teleport control...

Actually I Teleported between that stupid Berserker King and those two undead kings and princess... And yes, eventually I of course ran out of spellpoints. If only that stupid Ghost King had came from other direction... He happened to come from the stairs down... :) See, I teleported once close there and stupidly thought that if I lock the door I can take a breat and recover... Yeah... Right... Juni, have you ever heard ghost don't frigging care about walls?!?!?!??!

Well, that sort of stuff just happens in ADOM (and it happens somewhat more frequently if you go down the Dwarven Halls).:) Next time you venture down there with a character who's still quite vulnerable, it might help if you take wands or scrolls of monster detection with you to check what sort of monsters are on the level, so you can turn back if necessary. If you can, try to make sure you have teleport control as well. Uncontrolled teleportation isn't anywhere near as helpful as controlled teleportation, because as you found in this game, it can actually land you in a tighter spot. Especially in a place like the Dwarven Halls, which is full of tight spots, really...

You can be certain that I tried to get blink dog corpses to eat, but no luck. Not many blink dogs overall iirc. And that kind of answered that I did know teleportation without control may get you into deeper trouble. About those monster detection scrolls and wands, thanks, sounds like a plan. My hope was to get really fast through the Halls, but...

What's the best place to hunt for blink dogs (or any other similar giving teleport control)?

The cave in the Puppy Cave is a good spot to hunt for Blink Dogs, but it's sadly also easy to find cats there. The ID is another good hunting place, but Blink Dogs are not as frequent there.

However, here's a tip for hunting for a Blink Dog corpse. Name the initial Blink Dog! He is the summoner, and will summon other Blink Dogs from time to time. Kill the summoned dogs, but do not kill the named one. Once you have a corpse, kill them all. Mission accomplished.

(Remember that if you are invisible, it's more unlikely that the inital Blink Dog will summon others, as he is not aware of your presence.)

Hey, that sounds like a plan! Btw, did you guys know (I think you do, but one can never be too sure) that you may get literacy by eating dark sage? My TroBeFig just few seconds ago got! Yay! Also, he's wearing cloak of invisibility, he's Lawful and only level 6!

One more question: how damn rare is that Kranach encounter??? I've only once in my whole adom-career managed to kill him and twice he has killed me!

I've never encountered him with any of my characters - and I have even looked for him...

As for the effects of eating corpses, it is all listed in the guidebook :)

Dark Sage corpses are rare, though. Sounds like you have luck on your side ;)

Not really. As far as I remember, reading it basically asks your deity to remove a tiny amount of corruption in exchange for a huge amount of piety (it's very easy to get your deity to hate you if you keep reading it).

I've found it extremely useful to read it right after I've gotten a particularly nasty corruption like poison hands. I try to keep one with me at all times.

I have three Tracts of Chaos. I guess they give you corruption, then?

I encounter it 80% of the times I wish to encounter it, and he is very easy to find when you know how. You need to wander in the space near Terinyo (or whatever the name) in the wilderness untill you find him and his gang of thieves... And you can't find him when you level too much. If you talk to the sheriff and the he tells you that Kranach is gone to other lands, you won't be able to find him anymore.

You need a powerfull character to fight his gang of thieves and Kranach at such a low level (I think 5 or less). The reward is a nice amount of cash and a Law medal from the sheriff. The medal is very usefull. :)

A powerful character or simply an archer. Archers can kill Kranach from the very start.
