It was about time to get really evil: my dear dark elf necromancer, Ashana.

Never mess with Druids ;)
Especially not when you are both cursed and doomed... :)

I think Keethrax has the power to curse you, and perhaps even doom, although I'm not sure. The main reason I take that quest instead of the carpenter is in the hope of getting a giant slug corpse. (Yay for acid immunity - although my equipment isn't...)

My latest character. Meet Koboldian. He has surpassed Grunty. All I'm hoping for now is that he will not be killed by a game crash...

Most impressive. Your stats are fairly excellent. ;) I'd say that if nothing stupid happens   (like a greater moloch popping out of the blue and critically hitting you for 500~odd HP), you're pretty much set, especially with your good weapon skills and arrows/quarrels of slaying. I guess it all depends on how eager you are to finish the game. :)

Great crowning gift, by the way - the Bracers of War are my favorite artifact (aside from, of course, Vanquisher. :) )

Very nice. That's the sort of character you need to be careful with, though - it's very tempting to become overconfident when things are going this well...:)
If I were you I'd drink one of the blessed potions of cure corruption to get rid of the thorns, by the way. The appearance isn't really a big deal, but dexterity is one of the most useful stats.

I thought that the Thorns corruption was one of the best corruptions for a Beastmaster to have. Am I wrong?

Is it? No idea, I've never actually played beastfighters, but if you say so...:)

Extra melee damage! :)

I'd keep them; they're somewhat beneficial, and I'd rather drink a potion of cure corruption when I get an evil corruption like poion hands or stiffened muscles.

The thorn corruption gives you additional 3d3 melee damage, but it only applies to unarmed combat. I'll admit that a maximum of 9 points of additional damage isn't all that good, but I think it outweights the loss of 2 dex points. I could be wrong though :)

Well, dexterity figures in quite a lot of stuff (including DV, I think), but you'd need to check the guidebook to see what exactly is affected by it.:)

Peronally, I think that there are far worse corruptions for which you could save your PoCC that deal more dexterity problems than this. Extra-fast healing gets you scars which are extremely debilatating after long periods of time, and the hardening of the muscles not only gives a huge penalty to dexterity, but also slows your movement speed to 1500 energy points. IMO, thorns are worth it for now when there are some really nasty ones later.

The scars aren't too bad, the reductions in dex are directly to the stat, instead of being a negative modifier, so you can regain the lost dex through herb use.

Incidentally Tom, how are you training your strength?  I've got a pretty good beastfighter right now (drakeling, level 18) but his strength is stuck at around 28 strength.

Lots and Lots of Potions of Gain Attributes. I have yet to find a Potion of Strenght. Also, I have been very lucky with items. For instance, my Girdle of Giant Strength (+12).
